Claims to be Xcel Energy wanting to know if I want a super saver switch on my A/C so they can shut it off in hot weather.  They are offering $25 gift cards.  It's worth more than $25 to me to stay cool.

Shows up as missed call, but never a meassage.

Nothing more than a bunch of lazy scumbags trying to scam you out of $25. Hell, they could go to work (strike) for McDonalds with absolutely no skills or abilities and make about $35,000 based on new minimum wage proposal. Or, could enlist in military for about $14,000. Gotta love America.

This number called me at 12:25 this afternoon and no voice mail was left.  My caller ID read 800 Service.

This is a legitimate call from Xcel.  They offer a $40 credit on the October bill if the saver switch is allowed.  No one is asking for money.  (I did not accept.)

Sorry to break it to you but what do you think telemarketers do. Doesn't make a difference it comes from a known company or not.

Anything will caller ID "800 Service" I do not answer, usually criminals.  If its important they can leave a message and I will call them back.

I received a call from this number at 10:53 this morning and no voice mail was left by the caller.  My caller ID read UNKNOWN NAME.  Most likely a telemarketer or scamming telemarketer.

I have told Xcel several times that we don't have AC and also have that same info in my profile on their website.  Yet we continue to get these calls.  This leads me to believe that these calls come from an external source and not from Xcel directly so I've blocked this number.

Its not even really Xcel. Someone on Xcel's behalf to install the "Saver Switch".

Received the call from 877-817-5942, identified himself as from Xcel Energy and started the sales pitch for the saver switch with a $40 credit in October...  stopped him and told him I was not interested in the Saver Switch and he said he was "Shocked" I wouldn't want the $40 credit, I told him.. "Don't be"..  He asked me if I would tell him why, to which I said it was not worth 10 cents a day to compromise my system and he hung up on me.  Real or not...   Seriously Unprofessional and Not Appreciated.
