- Alan| 3 repliesFraudulent bill collector. They gather old bills and try to collect from them. They barely have any information and they do their best to get info from you. If they ask any questions regarding what city/county, verify your address, etc., DO NOT ANSWER. They will write down anything you tell them. Ask them to fax you all of the information or send it via certified letter....THEY WON'T. They will just try to get you to pay them something for a bill they aren't even authorized to collect on. They say things like, "I have a warrant" or "we are getting ready to go to court". They don't have enough info to do that, nor is it legal. Advise them you have just record their conversation and see how fast they hang up!!! They are suppose to sound mean and nasty and threatening...that's how they get your money. DO NOT ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS THEY ASK OF YOU!!! You start asking them questions and see what happens and how fast they hang up. You won't hear from them again.

- TamiA man with a very deep authoratative voice called saying someone would be coming to my house with legal documents for me to sign for. He even told me a case number, and said he had my social. After speaking with the police department they told me that I would not be contacted by phone, they would just show up. Unsure of the company but he said his name is Roger Carter.

- ladyAReceived a message from an Alex Ramos stating he was with my city's law enforcement. I know that's not true because if so why would I be calling an 877 number to call them back? Is there anything we can do about that? Does anyone know what company this is so I can request any information to confirm if I really do have a bill?

First National. They call me and just hang up. They reincarnated themselves. They were some company out of Buffalo, now they've changed area codes to a town close by. Scam don't pay. - Aggravated replies to ScarecrowFunny because they told me they were attorneys. Lol

- LegalGalGot a call from them stating charges were pending in their office. Well-charges don't "pend" in an office other than the police department of DA. Left a message that they'd issue a "deposition warrant" HA!!! NO SUCH THING!!! Idiots. DO NOT let them scare you!!! These are OLD UNCOLLECTABLE debts!!! They watch too much tv and misuse legal terminology. DO NOT give them any info!!! DO NOT listen to them!!!

- ResearcherA man named Shawn called my employer so I called him back. He sent me over to David Logan who told me he was collecting for a check loan I had a few years back. I thought 'well, I did default on that loan', so I figured I would pay the settlement amount and have it done with. After thinking about it a couple days, I remembered another company called for the same debt. I called David Logan back and told him 'this debt has already been paid to another company, send me something in writing'. He said to me that the other company was 'not authorized' to collect for the original creditor. I started my own research at that point: the previous company that I paid IS IN FACT AUTHORIZED to collect the money for the original creditor (this was verified by the original creditor); I could not verify that First National Arbitration Services is. I have tried to contact these guys for about 2 weeks now, requesting validity of the debt in writing under the FDCPA and that they refund the $209.95 taken from my account and cancel all payment arrangements made; no return phone call. I am still trying to track down their address to mail a letter including the previously mentioned requests. These guys may be legit, but they refuse to prove so. Does anyone have an address?
