Left a voice mail that was garbled.  Said she represented some place called ACS in collection of a debt.  Threatened to have a summons issued to bring me to trial for whatever this debt is.  I don't know who ACS is.  I can only assume it is for some small medical bill I have been unable to pay to date since I have been unable to work for the last two years.  I will do more research before contacting this number to be certain the debt is mine.  Any similar experience from this caller, please pass it on.  railers65@gmail.com

Left message at my in laws house saying there was a debt they wee trying to collect and that they would take me to court

These people have been leaving messages on our voice recorder threatening to serve papers on our son. They state they are a law firm out of Houston, Texas called Ashley, Stevens & Martin. This is the identity they gave the third time. First time it was ACS. I cannot find a ligit law office by this name.  I googled their 877 number and started reading the complaints. I believe this is probably a scam.They told my husband they could have our son arrested and will have papers "served"on him but will not explain if this is a civil or criminal matter. Make it sound like both. They have not provided ligitmate paperwork, etc.Last night they told my son they could also put a lien on his car. This threat made me laugh. I did some research. They are either trying to collect for a loan company by using tactics that are illegal or they are scam artist who may or may not know you owe money. They get the legal process mixed up in trying to scare you. Don't send money blindly to anyone you don't know who they are. You would not hand it over to someone on the street not knowing who they are. ANYONE can lie over a phone.

How do they get the numbers that they are calling.  My ex-inlaws got a call from someone named Ryan Foster from ACS claiming that he was trying to reach me over some Corporate Fraud issue.  He left a case number but refused to give them any other information.  This was on Friday the 13th and when I got to work today I had a message on my work phone from the same guy stating that I owed a debt and was going to be sued in the county court for non-payment.  I checked the case number with the on-line county court house and there was no such case found and I also searched under my name with the same result.  Not sure what this is all about but it makes no sense.  Do not let anyone intimidate you into giving them money.  The message on my machine indicated that I had until tomorrow to respond before legal action would be taken.  It is a LIE!

Yes it is a lie. A Scam.

These people called my mom's house stating I had a summons and that I would go to jail.  When I asked about the company, they would not tell me the names of the Attorneys that they were representing.  They wanted my social security number.  I wouldn't give it to them.  I find this tactic very aggressive and harassing.  Can someone please refer me to someone that can help me deal with these people?  I would like to sue them if possible.  My mother was extremely terrified.

They called and left me a message saying if I didn't call them back about a check fraud case that they would file for an injunction against any property I own and then they would go to every bank in my town telling them that I owe them money. My bank said without a judgement they can't go after my bank account anyway. I called them back and they said I took out a payday loan and had it taken out of my bank of America account. I told them I was a victim o identity theft and that it wasn't me since I've never banked with bank of America. She told me I was a liar. I told her she needed to send me proof of the debt and she refused and said all she would send is a letter saying how much I owed. She said they were a mediation company so legally they didn't have to validate the debt. I told her she would have to validate it court or I would send her a letter saying she owes me money to see how that holds up in court. She hung up on me. Total scam.
