My friend got a call from this number saying they wanted my phone number for a legal matter. When she asked for more info they said never mind we will just go arrest her. When I googled it nothing came up. When I called it it said NR Group same as 18778476681.

Yeah - I got a call from some pimpleface punk (Dennie Davis) from the NR Davis Group saying saying he was a pararlegal and he had an affidavit for my Brother and I was identified as a reference for a Banking Matter. My brother probably bounced a payday loan. This is how the scumbag bottom feeding collection agencies are getting around the law by contracting with some floundering law group and using their phones. This by-passes the laws that limit collection activity - their day is coming. tell thme to pound sand and say something funny about their mother.

I had my lawyer look into them. This number belongs to the Northern Resolution Group. They apparently arbitrate cases involving check charges. These can be very serious charges especially in commonwealth states. My lawyer said that they are not the bad guys here, the payday loan places are. These guys are trying to help. Their methods may seem harsh, but they need to be to make sure that we don't get them confused with some of these grimy collection agencies out there. My lawyer said that I could leave his email in case some of you have questions.

got a similar phone call for a friend... my question to the last responder/commenter is Why can't I find "Northern Resolution Group" as a legit company on Google???  The whole approach they take (even IF they are a collection agency) sounds like a scam.  I'm not biting.

I too just received the same phone call...along with my family member...and I too can't find ANYTHING on the web to that name search for Northern Resolution Group.....I'm not going to even respond unless they mail me something like an affidavit or a bill...

Are these people for real? Today we get a message for a family member who does not live in our house. He states in his message that it is very important that my family member return his call. I had to listen to the message several times to get the companies name and the name of the caller. I try to look up the number on the computer and like everyone else. What did I find? That is right folks, you all guessed it. I do not know about anyone else but one would think if they were really operating a working and functioning collection agency they would want it to look like a professional company.In this day and age do they think someone is just going to open their checkbook and pay these people over the phone?

I to recieved a call from this # 877 847 6680. I spoke with martin frances xt 515 and his supervisor Damario Turpin xt 520. i am very leary of giving these people any info. i was told that I would be summons in court if I didnt give them $75.00 by the 17th and the remaining of the money by the end of the month. I asked if they could e-mail me or mail me something they told me not until they get proof that I am going to pay them. I said well give me a website of your company so that I may research your company, they proceeded to cuss me out. I ended the call. Also they stated they are not an collection agency they are litagators.

Has anyone gotten any summons in the mail? I just received a call for my mom, and so did my cousin. I"m not falling for this, and neither should you. If they are a legit company, they would provide you with an email, website or documents before you give out any information. I know, I work in the legal field and they CANNOT do a lot of the things that people ahve written on  here... be on the look out for these scams.

My wife has received a couple of calls explaining that she took a loan out for 300 and that she needed to start paying the loan back.  When my wife explained that they were mistaken the woman became very agressive.  When my wife asked for information to be mailed to us so that we can file a police report for fraud, she transfered the phone to a gentleman whom became very offensive and demanding.  I called and left a message on a very CHEESY answering machine at the # provided and explained to DAN PATRICK whom seems to be the owener.  Do not call us again if they have any information they want us to respond to send documents.

Here is a classic example of someone who should not be in the junk debt buying/debt collection business. Jay Brian Ledford, 45, of Colleyville, TX is a Certified Public Accountant who may have succumbed to the allure of the bottom- feeder debt business, without any background or prior training in it. It appears to me that he saw a potential for money that is is ill-equipped

At least that is what I found in researching him and his organizations.

Jay Brian Ledford appears to have gone out and purchased portfolio’s of old, (mostly worthless) junk debts from one of the worst junk debt collectors, that used to operate in the industry. That organization was CSGA, LLC an illegitimate offspring subsidiary of Bronson & Migliaccio, of Buffalo, NY. B&M are Collect America franchisee’s who attempted to branch out on their own, and failed miserably. CSGA no longer operates, they failed because the debts they were collecting on were old, out of statute, containing no valid chain of ownership, which caused CSGA, LLC to issue bogus affidavits and claims that almost never met most state legal standards. B&M took a financial bath on CSGA as did the majority of appearance lawyers they hired to collect on these junk debts.

It appears that in his haste to enter the junk debt business, CPA Ledford purchased a CSGA portfolio and is attempting to collect on them through NATIONAL RECOVERY GROUP, LLC, A BUFFALO, NY BASED COLLECTION AGENCY. A check of several state records shows that Ledford does not have debt collector licensing or bonds anywhere in the U.S., which appears to make them an illegal debt collector.

The good news for consumers is that Ledford and National Recovery appear to be smart enough not to place these bogus accounts into consumer credit files. Perhaps the risk of a Class Action lawsuit is a good deterrent for them or they may even be smart enough to realize the majority of these accounts are out of statute in most states.

My advice to consumers contacted by NATIONAL RECOVERY GROUP, LLC on debts owned by:

is to hold them to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) by demanding complete validation along with a chain of ownership. It is my impression, based on the information I have, that they will find that a very difficult if not impossible task to perform.

Having no licensing or bonds may also raise the specter of potential legal actions for collecting debts illegally, which would be the decision of a consumer law professional.

Based on his total lack of experience, the dumpster trash accounts he purchased, his inability to produce any valid chain of ownership or reasonable debt validation and other bone headed moves made by this collector, I predict that Jay B. Ledford and his debt collection companies will likely be out of this industry before too long.

My bestfriend keeps getting calls from this NR Group.  They use to call before and then when I threatened them back they stopped but now it has started again.  Its a scam and I will not give into them.  Its been almost a year Ive been dealing with them and I've yet to be summoned.  If they can show me proof that I owe them this money which I know I dont. Then they wont get paid.

DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY!! THIS IS A SCAM!!! I made the mistake of sending them money....and now SO REGRET it...I thought this was a legit thing...and my Lawyer told me that, they HAVE TO produce a bill or summons or affadavit of some sort in order for you to be notified of any outstanding bills....If this was a legitamate company, they would mail you the bill....SO DONT EVEN TALK TO THEM...they buy your phone numbers from anyone..even unpublished ones....be forewarned...to not send ANY money!!!
