Someone named Mr. Peterson phoned from this number 877-855-1624 citing check fraud at a federal level and beckoned me to return the call ASAP' I did and got voice-mail so I left him a voice-mail detailing I phoned my local PD as I don't even own a checking account and have myself been a victim of fraud in the past. I did make an incident report to my local city police dept. as there was no number on caller ID only a voice-mail with the 877 number above.

Mr Peterson phoned me claiming to be from First Point Acquisitions....the number on caller ID was 000-000-0000 also claiming check fraud. Another call from 877-463-2002 sounded like the same 'recording' and customer service rep. The company is in Buffalo, NY.  Why are all of these companies based in NYC?

I Received this same call and same number to my work phone. I know that it has to be a collection agency for a loan company. I did receive a loan back in 2007 and still owe about $150 on it. But no fraud was committed.

I was called this morning, by a woman i could not understand. First she called my work then she called my cell phone.  She said that she was investigating me for check fraud.  I have no record of any fraud. I am looking at my three credit reports. And yes i have had bank accounts closed for NSF fees but not fraud.  Now i know for a fact that if i was going to go to jail or be investigated for check fraud it would be through the FBI and my local law enforcement. Since i have talked to all court houses making sure i have no warrants i am assuming the above number is trying to scam me. and like the post before me the number they called from is different from the number they gave me to call. Also, they said they were from DNI Recovery and they were a federal recovery agency and it was very important that i call her back within 5 business days. I tried to research said recovery group and there is not one.  I am going to inform my local FBI agency and report them.  If, like said the FBI wanted me for fraud they would be able to find me and arrest me which they have not.

I too last Wednesday received a phone call from 352-353-0038 which was a woman which said her name was Mrs. Mckinley and was calling from Ezelle Williams and Associates and  said i needed to call her back to stop a wage garnishment...I have been dealing with an issue regarding an internet payday loan back from 2006 for several years now. I used to have these middle eastern men call me once a week making threats of internet fraud and they were going to send agents to my work. So when i received this call i did some reasearch and linked it back to the same scam so i didn't call her back. Now yesterday i recived a call from the same 352-353-0038 from a Mr. Browning with DNI or D&R Recovery couldn't quite understand him stating they were investigating me for Check fraud on a federal level in my state of KY. I am getting really tired of this, I have reported all calls to my state attorney general but it doesn't stop, my attorney general did tell me i had paid enough on this debt as it was a 275.00 loan and they debited 75.00 from my old checking account 4 times and not to mention internet payday loans are illegal in my state.  All these calls started when my old account was closed for NSF.

These people are calling from a different phone number again 203-409-3442...unbelievable~~
I can recognize the voice of the girl who left the message in my voice mail is exactly the same person from last voice message and she got a new name today which is Nicole Allen.  I couldn't understand a word she's saying in her message, she's speaking in a very low voice and speaking quite fast...i guess they are trained to speak this way so people will try to call them back and figure out what's going on?

I again this evening recieved a call but this time from 972-734-5400. This one spoke clearly in her message said her name was Ms. Humarez and she was calling from DNI recovery regarding giving of goods or services into a fradulent or closed checking account and my file seemed to be missing my attorneys information and I needed to call her asap to get this updated. I too last week got a call from this number so far only 352-353-0038 and this 972-734-5400 have called me but last week they were from Ezelle Williams and associates and i needed to call them back to stop a wage garnishment at 877-844-9657.....I guess they thought since i wasn't responding to that message they would try to get dirtier.

I got a call from a Ms. Johnson (ya right) saying the same thing.  That I owed on a payday loan from Cash Today.  I explained to her that I had already paid this loan off and I faxed them proof.  They said if they didn't feel the proof I sent them was good enough they were going to file a wage garnishment on me.  I work for attorneys and you cannot file a wage garnishment without first filing a complaint against someone.  She said that wasn't true because with a payday loan you sign away your rights.  I told them to send me anything I had signed showing that I had signed away my rights and I haven't received anything.  Another payday loan company tried to garnish an employee's wages here without having a judgment and the office manager threw it away saying it was completely illegal.  These people will use whatever threatening tactics they can to scare you into paying.  If you owe a payday loan contact the company directly.  NEVER PAY THESE SCUMBAGS WHO CALL YOU EVERY HOUR OF EVERY DAY.  THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY AND YOU STILL OWE THE LOAN.

SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!! The FBI does not arrest people for payday loans. FYI - payday usa is a loan matchinbg company, they do not loan money, so you cannot owe them.  These poeple have bought your information and are harrassing people and trying to scare them into pyaing with these threates of arrest.  This scam has been running for two years now.  Previously, all the caller have been middle eastern with americanized name like John Matthews, James Brown etc,  No one here has nemtioned that so I am wondering if some american scammers have picked up on this. In any case report the names they use and the numbers to the FBI (they do investigate extortion - which is what this is)  The Secret Service (they are repsonsible for gurading the nations financial networks, and since these scammers have stolen your infromaiotn, the networks have been breached) also your state attorney general, homeland security and the FTC.  Check out the warning form Kansas Attorney General Steve Six - and scroll through this site - you will find tons of stories just like this.  These people need to be kicked off the planet!!

I jus received a phone call also from First Point Aquisitions telling me that I have a pending complaint in their office and that I have gone out of state and federal regulations as far as a loan is concerned.  They gave me two business days to call them back with a response from my attorney or they would be investigated further.  I know I did take out some loans but I also paid some back.  These were payday loans which i will never ever ever do again.  I've been getting harrassed for about two years now.  I understand now what people mean when they say if you can't pay something back then don't take it out in the first place.  If I had the money available to me then I would surely pay them back everything.

I called them back and this is what they said: I had apparently gotten a payday loan from Cashtoday.com back in 2004. This was the last resort before they began garnishing my pay check for 25%. So this is what I said back: First of all, there is no order, because any company with a garnishment order won't abstain from doing so in lieu of making an arrangement. And in order to get a garnishment, there has to be a judgement, which they don't have. Additionally, I told her that I would gladly pay it, but I hadn't received anything. When I was told they don't send statements out, I told her if she wanted to get paid, she was required to by law. I have never heard of this company, and the last thing I was going to do was pay her over the phone for a debt she couldn't even validate. I told her that anytime a company transfers a debt, the new company must contact the debtor within 30 days and allow them the option to dispute the validity of the debt. In short, if she wanted my new address to send me a statement, I'd gladly give it to her, but otherwise she wasn't getting a cent. She said ok, that she would mark me down as refusing to pay and proceed with the garnishment. I just said ok and hung up. Anyone who knows the law knows that they're full of it.
