this number has shown up on my caller ID several times. when the call is answered it goes to a busy signal. does anyone have any idea who this is?

They call and call and call and call and call but never respond to "hello".

Getting the same thing....call, call , call and won't talk when answered. If I don't answer, it rings 4 times and quits?????? Does anyone know what is going on?

I've gotten five calls today alone.  Never an answer.  Sometimes I get a series of four tones (like its dialing an extension).

I've received 7 calls from this number today, yet no one is ever on the other line.

Same here.  I wonder if its some kind of autobot recording the time you pick up the phone so as they know the optium time for a telemarketer or collector to call.

Listening to my messages and all I get is a heavy breather.  When I called the number, I got a busy signal. 8778562818 is all that shows on the Caller ID.

Called Saturday morning with "(877) 856 2818" on caller ID.  No replies to repeated "hello".

Called again today (2 days later on Monday afternoon) around 4PM...female caller asks my answering machine for my name and then hangs up.

Who are these people?

This phone number called this morning, after I said hello twice there was a female caller on the other end who asked for a family member (who has no access to my phone). When I asked what it was about she took about five seconds to explain that she was calling concerning {something very muffled } and then the state that my family members lives in.

The number has called my family member's house on several occasions too. The family member tried calling back once and there were then charges on the phone bill from doing so. DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER BACK!!!!

number called this afternoon - first heard about 4 tones and a click, then a man with an heavy accent asked for my husband but had difficulty pronouncing our simple 6-letter last name. I said he was not home & asked who was calling. The name said he was "Mr. Brown from WR Research" and that he would call back later. I told him if he was calling for "research" or marketing, he should not call back. He just hung up. We have no collection issues, so unsure what this is.

Same number called back this morning - I let the machine pick up and they hung up. Two days in a row. We are on state & federal no-call lists.

Received a call yesterday on my mobile phone from this number asking for another family member who has never had any connection to my phone number, and with whom I haven't lived in 10 years. The male caller claimed to be part of an advocacy group informing consumers of coming tax increases on soft drinks. WTF?

I get the same thing up to 6 calls a day for over a week  they will not leave a message. I have never spoke with anyone. If I call the number back no I get nothing no ring just dead air. Anyone have any idea who or how to report this to.

recv'd a call from this number 2 evenings ago and after several hellos a female asked from my husband by name and when I asked what it was concerning she said survery asking about tax increases on soft drinks.  I told her we had talked to our Senator that morning (which we had) and he knew how we felt about taxation and telemarketing surveys.
There was another call on caller ID this morning from the number again.
FYI, I am in WA state.

This number keeps calling my phone.  I am truly sick of it.  When anyone does answer, they ask for my son, who has not lived here for many years.  What to do???

Nuisance calling, we are on the 'Do not Call' list.  Don't know who these people are since there is never anyone on the line.  If we catch the number in the Caller ID we now just refuse to answer.

I'm also on Federal & State do-not-call lists. Called twice one minute apart, no answer to hello. I'm in Arkansas.

In Arkansas also.  This number showed up on our caller ID called around dinner time on Sunday afternoon.

I received a bogus call with a question - do you think coupons help save money. Someone was on the other end of the line. This is clearly not legitamate call and I am on a do not call list so if I get another call from this number I will respond with this information.

This number keeps calling 4 to 5 times a day. When the answering machinge picks up it just goes to a busy signal. I want this to stop.
