- DCGot a charge on my debit card for $32 -- I think it may be a charge from Eastern Fly Fishing magazine because the words before this phone number were EASTFLY. I purchased the magazine last Christmas as a gift and the recipient never received the magazine until late in March. The recipient does not want the magazine again and I did not order it. I purchased the magazine through a subscription service that offered hundreds of subscriptions.

- CWI have a charge for $32 and no reason why. Can't reach anything except an automated service about magazine subscriptions.

- DianaSame as all the other reports. Ordered a magazine once; they kept my credit card info and have continued to bill me.

- TDMacGot a charge on my debit card for $45.00 with COSMO in the notes section. This was the phone number listed on my statement as being associated with the company. I have a feeling one of the magazines I ordered as part of a "free" offer just renewed without my knowing or approving. I'm going to dispute this charge with my bank. Beware the so called free magazine offers. I think this one came through Broderbund as a so called free offer when I purchased some of their software.
- Caller: COSMO per the debit statement

- close call| 1 replyI had 62 USD charge for OK magazine on my CC statement after falling for a miles for magzines extra offer exactly 12 months ago to the day. I called the number and think I am getting a refund in 'one to two' business days. I'll let you know if I don't. The automated service tries to trick you into cancelling and re-ordering, so listen carefully. It's sharp practice and Conde Naste should be ashamed to be associated with these cowboys.

- John Howardreceived two debit deductions from my bank account.
- TonyIf you call 877-856-4530 and follow the automated prompts, you can cancel the magazine subscription that was automatically renewed. They evidently have debit/credit card number on file and use it to extend your subscription without asking for permission.
- CTC replies to close callDid you get your refund? My credit card was charged $62.00 last month and I called to cancel a subscription that I got free from answering a survey. I haven't seen my refund yet.
- DCIn December, $32 was deducted from my bank account through my debit card via this number even though I had not purchased anything. When I called the number, like so many others, I got an answering service asking me if I wanted to cancel the magazine and sign up again for the same magazine at a lower rate. It was confusing and thankfully, I just wanted to cancel and get a refund. The answering service seemed like just a lot of doubletalk to confuse an already confusing situation. To get a live human being on the phone, I just kept hitting the O (zero) again and again even though it was not a choice -- but doing so did get me a person to talk to. He confirmed that the magazine was just automatically renewed because the company kept my info on file and even though I hadn't given permission, he said the company was doing me and others a service by taking care of the renewal! When I asked him what kind of scam this was, he just laughed and said this was no scam; the company he worked for (that he did not name) was a legitimate business. I explained I did not want the magazine or any reduced rates or any kind of renewal service and he cancelled my subscription and told me a refund would be coming within one or two billing cycles, not one or two days. It is almost a month later and I've gotten no refund yet. I think this company is counting on my forgetting to check my account to see if the deduction has been refunded. I will be calling back -- and this time I will want an explanation about why the company can deduct $32 exactly one year to the day that I ordered that one magazine subscription, but it is taking over a month, possibly two, or possibly never, to get a refund.
- Polly Pocket| 1 replyThey charged my debit card $26.00 without my authorization or me EVER knowing until i checked my bank statement. RUDE! I had to call my bank and CHANGE my debit card number and NOW i have to WAIT 7 to 10 days until the new card comes in the mail. IM REALLY MAD THEY DID THIS AND NOW I HAVE TO GO OUT OF MY WAY TO PROTECT MY OWN FUNDS! I will NOT renew my NYLON subscription after this crap (FYI) to their company b/c I'm a SURE i am NOT the only individual they have lost their business with due to their SHADY and UNPROFESSIONAL actions!
