Who are these people

A man named Chad Berbar from the liasons office stating he received a fax from CCR and associates about a case being filed under my name and to contact CCR immediately. I currently have a title loan and I'm concerned about losing my car. How is the title loan company involved in this?

I was at work when I got my phone call its was around 2:21 pm. my husband told me that some guy call from a private number and it was a unknown name. and the guy gave him a number for me to call which is this same number 877-881-3016............please check in to that for me thank you I am so sick of all these freaking scammers

I received a call from a Chad Williams, and he said I owed someone and it was an attempt to collect for them, now when I call I cannot reach him and he has not returned any phone calls, I did not give him any info or money, I find it odd I cannot get into contact with him now...

I just got a call this morning at 9:30 AM telling me that they were going to file charges against me for malice attempts to pass bad checks and that I had to make a payment this month or he was going to file criminal charges against me. It was an actual debt with a company I had done business in the past with but I was pretty sure they had been paid and wouldn't be calling me 7 years later so I called my attorney's office who has been handeling my credit issues for me and they said it's a scam and not to give this guy any personal information or payments. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM ARTIST!!!!!!!!!

I received a voice mail from a Michael Moore this afternoon. He stated that he was with CCR and Associates and that he represents a company that is trying to collect a debt. He further stated that he has been assigned to my case and is required to serve me papers on a time sensitive matter and that he will be coming to my home address or place of employment to serve these papers unless I return the call immediately. He left the number 877-881-3018. This man knew the last 4 digits of my social as well as my current address. He left a reference number on the voice mail message. I called the number when I got home and a man answered with no identifiable business greeting whatsoever. He simply picked up the phone and said "Castro". I explained the call that I received and he he said "hold on a second" and put me immediately on hold. I hung up instantly. I am not sure what to do here. If this is a valid issue then I would like to handle it as soon as possible. --If not--I am very concerned about the call and how these people got my address and personal information!

If you have no debt, then this may be an extortion scam where scammers use bought/hacked/phished loan application data to extort payments for fictitious debts from victims and victims' families and friends.

I got that same weird call yesterday. A woman called me, and when I answered she mumbled something about serving me with a subpoena, but said she couldn't give me any details about the case. Said that I needed to call 877-881-3016, and gave me a case #. When I called that #, I got a guy named Nasir Castro  who proceeded to threaten me with Federal charges if I didn't give him a credit or debit card # immediately. See, funny thing is, the name I incurred the debt under is not the name they called me by, and the name of the company that the guy told me he represents is not the same name that is on their greeting when I called. Also, there is no record of this company with the B.B.B. I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission; their # is 877-382-4357. I have also contacted my State Attorney General, per the F.T.C.'s advice. Fortunately, I did not give him any of my information, however he did know the last 4 of my social, and now I'm concerned about possible identity theft?

They only gave me an address when I acted like I owed them money. Sketchy.

Got a call from a lady  at a unknown # telling me to call 1-877-881-3016 that said there were 2 cases pending against me and that if I call this # they would work something out w/ me. I told her that I never received any documentation about court. She said that I wouldn't and If I called this # immediately and gave them the case# that they would work something out w/ me instead of going to court. I ask what it was concerning and she said she couldn't open the court documents. I also ask what would happen if I didn't contact this company, she said I would then receive documentation to go to court. How is that possible that I have never received paperwork and they are telling me I have 2 cases pending?

Same thing happened to me how did yours turn out.

The same number called me today.  It showed up on caller ID as anyonomous, so I did not answer it.  They left message saying they had a case against me and knew my last four digits to my SS#.  The fishing thing was they had my married name which I have not used in 10 years.  I have no intentions of calling back since reading these posts.  Will contact the local BBB about this scam.

I received a call this morning stating they were a lawyer and If I didnt pay the money to them for a bad check I had two misdeamenors and would go to jail. The caller claimed they sent paperwork to my work and to my house when I never received anything.  I ran my motor vehicle report nothing on it and also called the courts and they don't have anything on me. Beaware of these people who are posing to be lawyers.

I received a call from Mike Westbrook, the number came up as 239-999-9999, but he left 877-881-3016. He said the same as the others above, but had the last 5 digits of my social, he gave me a case # and said I would be served at home or work. He said he was calling for additional information.

I received a call about 2:00 p.m. from a female telling me that they were going to file charges against me for malice attempts to pass bad checks.  She gave me the telephone number 877-881-3016 and a claim reference number.  I called the number and a male answered the phone with "Check & Credit Assocs.  I gave him the reference number and he put me on hold.  He came back on line after a long wait and said he was trying the reach the legal department but my call came back to him.  He put me back on hold and I hung up.  About 30 minutes later I called back and Jonathan answered the phone.  I explained I was calling about a possible law suit againt me and gave him the reference claim number.   We confirmed my name.  He told me a check cashing business filed a suit againt me for fraud.  I told him I do not use check cashing places.  He asked if I ever worked at Walmarts.  I said no.  He asked for the last four digits of my SSN.  I gave it to him.  He gave the first five digits of a SSN and I told him it was not me.  He said sorry and the person he was looking for was not me.  I got worried after I hung up because I never give personal info over the phone but thought it was okay because it was just a partial SSN given.  I reported the call to the federal government.

This person called my house my mother answered saying it was a call for my brother I don't know if it was a debt collector they wouldn't say. My mother says she sounded young. I wonder if this is the same person who called all those people before? I have a feeling this person is a scam artist trying to get money out of someone.

This company called my family in another state looking for me saying I was being charged with crimanal and felony chargers.  They also called my room mate.  I called the number 8778813016 trying to figure out what was going on they said they were collection agency trying to collect a payday loan from back in 2008 what's even more wreid is they had the fisrt five of my social.  Where they messed up is it is agaigainist the law for them to call my mom and my room mate.  If its for debt they could only call my spouse and I don't have one total scam beware

How do I get them to STOP CALLING me? Will I need to file a harrassment charge?
