Pops up claiming to be Microsoft support

I also got a pop up with this number, I called the number and asked if I could speak to an American so I could understand, and he replied that 80% of Microsoft people are now from India.  Told him I did not trust him and would get more info on the number.  Definitely a scam, same the phone calls, people are getting.

Same situation here. I get a pop up telling me to contact Microsoft Support. I didn't really believe it, but I just wanted to check to make sure. When I called, the person did have and Indian accent. I didn't complete the call though.  I just had some red flags about the pop up itself and I believe it's a scam.

SCAM- Look closely at the top right of the page. It'll say "Your IP Address". It's not. A simple google of "what is my IP Address" tells you yours almost instantly. Don't click on anything other than the dialog that prevents you from closing the screen. Mark "Prevent this page from producing more dialog" and close out. Webroot didn't recognize it as a spyware site. I'm going to be buying a new hard drive and just tossing this one. Virus blocker wouldn't remove spyware that brings you to the site.

wanted me to pay $250.00 to clean malware.
