- LouiseI got a call from this number. They left a message and it was a collection call for a former neighbor who moved out of state about a year ago. Why they are calling my number is strange. How did they get my number anyway?
- Caller: Toll Free
- Call type: Debt collector
- SmithThis number called my number ...Called stated her name, and indicated it call may be recorded for quality insurance then immediately asked to verify my date of birth, and last four of my SS# . This just after they do a piece on the news about a call center scams.
Do not give out your information.... They will still you blind..... - Billyboy| 1 replyI just got called, they won't answer any of my questions. They want some personal information. I didn't give anything to them. I called them back and they don't know what I was talking about. They are a call center. Don't talk to them, at all.
They are breaking the law by not identifying their company.
If you get a call from them call Attorney General ASAP.
Don't play around with these guys.
I'm on the do not call list.- Caller: 877-907-4530
- Rene replies to Billyboydid you ask them their company name? they have to tell you if you do, but otherwise they can't. they are a collection company just doing their job. are you in debt? maybe you should be answering these calls...

I read up on this number, they just called me. They told ME who they were when i asked them... "I'm calling from General Revenue Corporation." https://www.generalrevenue.com/
SIMPLE questions to ask unknown callers:
"What company are you calling from?" - NOT "who are you?" or "where are you calling from?" they will just say their name or what city they are calling from and you'll get nowhere.
"Who are you calling for?"
"What is this in regards to?" - if they say it is private, hand over the damn phone to the person they are calling for, don't keep badgering them about it, you're not going to get answers.
Please be polite to these people, once again, they are just doing their job.
Just things i picked up when i was in a call center for GC services, also a collection company... - PhyllisYes they are doing their job, but if someone is calling your phone you have every right to ask them why are they calling and the nature of the call. Debtor's have rights too. The majority of these collection agencies are not willing to work with you just like the company you owe to the money to won't work with you. Your account is turned over to collection agencies and they use all sorts of illegal tactis to collect.
- Caller: General Revenue for SallieMae
- Call type: Debt collector
- KurtisYou don't have to deal with collection agencies. You have a right to contact the company who you owe the debt to and make arrangements with them yourself. I paid a collection agency and the money was never credited to the account that I owed. I wound up getting harassed by another collection agency for the same debt. I finally contacted the company I originally owed the debt to and took care of it myself.
- Caller: Nationwide Credit
- Call type: Debt collector
- Jeremy| 1 replyI've been getting calls from GC services. They also recently sent a notification of wage garnishment. Pretty serious right? So I could avoid that by calling and arranging something with the company who LENT me the money, or the company that now OWNS my debt?
- Caller: GC Services
- Call type: Debt collector
- Cathy Johnston| 1 replyThis woman was rude, she said well I will call you at your work if you do not answer these questions. Would not tell me who she was with, or why she was calling. I refused to give her any information, and she said you will here from me again. I put her on Call Block, so I dont have to deal with their stupidity. I have no unpaid debt, they need to handle their employees and train them to speak to people as they would like to be spoken to, or maybe they speak like this at home, What a shame!!
- Caller: 877-907-4530
- Alfalfa replies to Cathy JohnstonNo, she CANNOT call you at work:
A debt collector may not contact you at inconvenient times or places, such as before 8 in the morning or after 9 at night, unless you agree to it. And collectors may not contact you at work if they’re told (orally or in writing) that you’re not allowed to get calls there.
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection - just me replies to JeremyUmm they can NOT garnish your wages without taking you to court, did you get served with papers to appear and then fail to appear?? that is how they get garnishments against you,if you have never been served with a date and time to appear in court, then what they are doing is illegal. Also, they can not, unless you owe the government taxes garnish disability payments. You need to look up fair debt collection practices.
- TRI answered the phone and they wanted someone named Jason. Whether this number was the last resident I don't know.
