Message says my mastercard world account is in danger. Whatever that means, I dont own a master card.

Yeah, they left a message stating that my Mastercard was placed on hold. It told me to call them or go to the website, but the website name was conveniently garbled.  I think it's another scam by idiots.  

Voicemail said that my Mastercard was used fraudulently .Called the REAL number on back of my credit card. The credit company confirmed that that was a bogus number. Don't CALL BACK!

Received a call on my cell that my Barclays Mastercard has strange activity and they had put a hold on it. Second message said press # and we will transfer you to Fraud Department. The funny part is I don't have a Mastercard this number is a phishing scam of some sort. Don't answer...I didn't and won't

Got a call on my cell phone.  Recorded message said my Barclay Mastercard has strange activity, has been put on hold and I need to call back to release it.  I don't have a Mastercard account from ANY bank.  Clearly a phishing scam.  Do not respond.

I don't have the world Master Card, it is obviously a phishing scam. It asks for the 16 digit card number, which I couldn't provide. I wonder if the next request would have been the pin no.!

Called twice, no message

They left a message saying there was fraud on my Master card, and it will be placed on temporary hold until I call. Or, I can visit Barclays.com (I think). Scam!

Got a message from 877-988-5553 at 1:12pm ET on 11/19/14. Suspiciously phishy. I do not have a MasterCard with Barclay's.

Yes this is a scam. They called me because I may have a hold on my card. I actually called the credit card number on the back of the card. Reported this to them.

Got this call today (11/19/14).  It said to press 1 if I'm the cardholder, or call them back.  I hung up, called the number of the back of my Mastercard, and they said there is no fraud alert/hold/whatever on my account.  No mysterious charges, and no reason to think they would have called me.  They confirmed that's not a number that belongs to them.  SCAM!

Got a voice message saying my World card was on hold due to fraudalent activity.  I don't have a World card.  Suspect a scam. I didn't call back the number.

I just recieved a call from the same number. Barclay Mastercard. Called back is asking for credit card number. I don't have one so not sure what the heck is going on. Called the Barclay people they said they are getting multiple calls about a phishing scam going on. I bet they got my number from a stupid APP I downloaded because this is my cellular phone...

Called back number it is already disconnected...

Scammer said fraud on my master card, call their department and give them my credit card number. Sorry, I'm not a fool. 877 988 5553.

I received a voicemail on my cell phone--from the fraud detection department of my "Barclay card."--it's been put on hold until I call to verify...I have no Barclay card.

Fortunately, I do not hv Barclays bank card  so I just checked this phone nbr in computer and found more people being faked out.    So where did they get my phone number????  Was told to call back to 877-9885553 x  I would say this is a criminal call.

I likewise had not one but a couple of calls from this number today with an automated message about fraudulent activity. Coincidentally I was making an unusual purchase at that time and thought they were questioning the charge. Later when I returned home, I tried calling the number again, only to now get the "no-longer-in-service" message. Obviously this is a scam of some sort.
