Wanted to distribute funds

I received a call like this recently.  Did you ever determine what it was about and if it was legitimate.

Did you ever follow through and find out if this was legitimate?

The Law Offices of Elliot Greene called to let me know I had some money due to me after my father passed away. I looked up Elliot Greene on the Florida Bar website to make sure it was legitimate. After doing some research, I called back, and they were able to help me claim my money.

Received same call re:same situation.  Really concerned about scam.   Got them to say they keep 33 1/3 percent etc etc.

Called back... disconnected

Not only did I get a call... I got 3 pages of paperwork asking for DL copies and SS card copies....

Paperwork from "Elliot Greene, P.A." mailed to me.  I have originals mailed to me.

Did not trust so I am checking the net....

Have not found any reference to what I received for verification of what I received....

I did not trust  his letter to me since he asked me to provide a copy of my FL DL Licence as well as copy of my Social Security Card... I did not.

I have COPIES of Correspondence from Greene which I can provide... email me back.

You called who to research that it was ok to give out our drivers licence and social security number over the internet,,,,,,, ?????? and you actually say you DID get your money?????   Who are you????

I questioned the legitimacy of it and asked for them to send me something in writing...

I found it interesting that this "Law Office" only had an "800" number... not a local one...

with 2 addresses... AND NO FAX NUMBER...  dont ya think a law office needs a fax????

Not even an email.....

Do    not  be fooled...

Will be investigated tomorrow

they did have a fax and a local Fort Lauderdale phone number

I am dealing with an atty at the firm at present-steve kahn - i too had the phonecall/firm checked out b/f providing any personal info.  am now awaiting a check less their fees.

If you get a call from that number saying you have unclaimed funds from a deceased relative, please be aware that you can claim these funds on your own, for free. Go to fltreasurehunt.org, and search for the name of your relative. You can then print out the form, mail it in and collect your money. Be sure that you are using the state's official Department of Financial Services, as there are many other scams out there.

Rec'd a call today 6/2/09 from the "law office" of Elliott Greene re: the same line.  The number they gave was 800 317-3394.  When I called back, I got a recording saying they were assisting other customers, etc.

steve kahn is the biggest pain in the butt. he calls almost to the point of harassment and every time he leaves a message he sounds like the most disgruntled person.  i have left a message and asked him to stop calling me but he does not pay attention. how do i get this guy off my back?  same deal, he said i had money coming to me, sent me forms, but i can't find any web site for this law office.  it must be a guy working out of his back room.
