some lady called from  882-013-1115  ans she said she was from ILLINOIS  Business council Dept.
she started asking company's  personal info. about  location address and move In or  Move Out
dates. when I did not answer, she hung up quickly.

keeps calling and hanging up

A woman called from the NJ Business Council and wanted to know if we had found a place to move to.  I immediately told her she was full of crap and hung up..

Same here. for WA State. Asked if it were a solicitation and she said she was calling from WA Economic Dept. Said we have a place and she hung up.

same thing happened to me. the woman sounded foriegn and specifically asked if I had found a place to move in to. She referred to a company name I use if I do freelance work. My "company" has never had an actual address. She said she was from the state of florida dept. of business. As soon as I said: "who are you and where are you from" she hung up.

I just received the same call from the Provincial Economic Development Office asking if I have recently or am planning a move.

yes, same thing, sounds nigerian.  Scam written all over it!!!!

Same claim here, said her name was Audrey calling from the "Canadian Economic Business Office". After I asked about what company she was asking about, and where she got this information from, she hung up quickly.

Got this call today.  Went straight to voicemail.  Left no message

882 is a toll free area code and the next number starts with zero?

I've now blocked all 882-0XX-XXXX numbers.

I've received THREE calls from them so far today. They say they are from WA Economic Dept., wanting to know if we've found a place to relocate yet. Each time I ask to be removed from their list, but I'd barely got the words out and they'd hung up.

I am in Ontario, Canada. Third call from these guys, claiming to be the Business Development Office, asking if we have found a location to move to.

I started asking HIM questions and he turned into a smart a$$. Asked to speak to his supervisor, he said "No, I want to speak to YOUR supervisor"

Told him to remove us from his list and if they call again I'll report them.

...which was kind of an empty threat - can you even report this type of thing? haha

Same thing here.  Foreign lady asking to verify address and if we have found a new location.  I asked where she got that information and she hung up on me.  Not sure what they are trying to do or scam.  This was in MN.  She said she was from the state of MN.  

Just got a call from the number, claiming to be San Diego Business development office asking similar questions. I called the number back after getting off the phone - "Robert" answered. He seemed to not know what I was talking about when I asked to be removed from his list. He said  " I didn't make any calls" and I responded that I just called back off of the caller ID. Idiots.

In Vancouver, BC. Someone with a Filipino accent introduced himself as the "project manager" of "Business Economic Development" wanted to verify our company information and if we were able to find a place.

When I ask repeatedly where he got that information, he hung up abruptly.

Definitely scam.

"State of Oregon Business Development Office" don't think so

The caller said he was from the District of Columbia Business Office and wanted to know if we had found a new space to lease. We had gotten a similar call before, which we looked up and found was a spam call, so we were ready this time and asked a few questions of our own. Surprisingly, the caller did not hang up, but persisted in saying they were finishing up their annual report and needed our information. When my supervisor asked him how the weather was outside he said "quite good." Little did he know it is snowing in DC today!

Same as other reports. I just spoke with someone claiming to be with the Maryland Economic Development Office. She asked if we were still looking for office space and if we'd moved. When I said we were no longer at the old address she quoted, she hung up abruptly.

Lady claimed she was calling from the "Quebec business development office" (scam hint #1). Asked me if we had decided to move (scam hint #2). Scam hint #3 - no official Quebec organisation would start a cold call in English!

I asked her "what are you talking about?" and she asked to speak with my boss, I said that's me, and she put me on hold to transfer me to another lady who rudely asked me what I wanted!

Claimed that she was calling from Oregon Business Development office.
