lee - 9 Mar 2007I received a call from this number. It was listed as an "Unknown Name" on the caller id. When I tried to call the number, it said that the call "could not be completed as dialed."

BUT FYI... I sell phone equipment and what these companies are doing is programing the outbound caller ID info to have this false number so if you have caller id it doesn't log them as blocked

You would also find the the Act that began the FTC in 1912 was done by President Woodrow Wilson a democrat. I guess it is true what they say about liberals. P. S. - 29 Jul 2008This is a funny message board. The subject is about a number that people are being called from and it ends up in a verbal online argument between Dems and Reps. This is why America is laughed at. I'm a born-American, so don't chew out about not being American. This is also why America is a great place to live. All Americans are not of like mind. Like or dislike him, give him credit for the do not call list and trying to fix social security, which we all know is doomed.
Back to this, mine turned out to be from wells fargo. Amazing, a decent company reporting to this sort of crap. I filed a complaint with the do not call list.
That does seem to work, each time I do that, I don't get a call again from the same company. It's like whack a mole, you just have to keep a whacking. Just like terrorists, well, exactly like it:)

If any of us knew what's really going on in Washington, we'd mutiny and run all those bums out! We talk about the government eroding our freedoms but in truth, we're doing it to ourselves with our own laziness. The more we expect the government to fix everything, the more dependent we become on it and the more enslaved to it. Isn't it about time we stood on our own two feet and dealt with the issues we're capable of dealing with instead of creating more government dependency?

They've called me numerous times using other seemingly non-existing numbers: 800-682-0233, 800-658-0047, 877-464-8121 and 866-863-4531 are some of the non-existing numbers they use on their Caller ID.

It was GMAC, my mortgage company trying to sell me 'accident insurance'. So if everything was on the up and up, why didn't they identify themselves through caller ID? I would have been much more likely to answer if I knew who it was..
