- Bill| 5 replies"Windows Maintenance" scam.
Standard criminal scum pitch from India about my computer sending error messages, and they are calling to help.
However, this guy stayed on to talk and I had time to kill, so I played with him for a while.
Got him to wait for a couple minutes while I 'went downstairs' and tried to 'turn the computer on'.
I eventually told him I don't use the computer much and my son takes care it, but he is out of town. This kept him interested as I sounded like an easy victim. But then I played dumber and unable to do what he was asking, and tried to get information from him for my 'son' to contact him with any questions. He said he was calling from 'Houston', and gave me a call-back number that turns out to be an innocent realtor in Wisconsin. I finally got around to asking him if he was worried that making a living as a lying scum-thief trying to steal money from old people might create such bad karma that he would reincarnate as a slime worm. He took offense at that and we exchanged suggestions to each other for self intercourse before he hung up.- Caller: Windows Maintenance
- MarshaWhen I answered the phone the guy asked, "how are you today". Of course my radar went up and I asked if he was a solicitor. He again asked me how I was doing so I asked him again if he was a solicitor. He hung up. That number is now blocked.

- LTLPeter called, asked about computer. I said that's not going to work here. Then, he directly asked for $200. I hung up.
- LBSaid he was Alex and from the Windows Maintenance team. I have a Mac so it was ridiculous. Also Sunday AM at 9:40. It's bothersome that my cell is in husband's name and he asked for me by my name. First time any of these nuisance calls have asked for me directly.
- I block scam callersAs a test, I did not say "hello" when I answered the phone. A recording of a female voice then said, "good bye" and hung up. LOL! Phone number is now blocked!
- GLTB, SRScam. Accent-said he was a computer technician. Getting signals that something was wrong with my computer. Called my cellphone. Blocked the number. I work at a large municipal law enforcement agency. Nothing's wrong with the computers here.......
