When i wanted repeatedly to remove my phone # and threaten even reportin them to Police as I have concurrently ALL unknown No.s tracked due to Harrassment case by one LUNATIC that is reported to Police...

- brashKeeps calling several times a day.
- Joe replies to JimIt's definitely Citi Bank. I not only got a phone call on my cell (they didn't leave a message), but I also got a postcard from them with the phone number on it also. I originally contacted them a few days ago about something, and they are trying to get back in touch with me.
- Mark replies to JimYes, I got a call on my cell as well. I signed up for Life Lock but was not sure if it was legit.
I found this number on the Citicards.com website at the bottom of the application for a new card. It is the number to call if you would like your decision emailed to you vs. snail mail or vice versa. - Honest John| 4 repliesThis is DEFINETELY NOT Citibank. I called Citibank's regular # and they stated this is not one of their toll free numbers. ALSO, I called the # and a voicemail asked me to enter my SS#!!!! A legitimate company would never do this.
- allyI got a call from someone saying they were from Citibank regarding my recent application for a credit card and told me that my social security # was illegible on the application, which I find hard to believe. They asked me to tell them my social security # and I asked for a # to call them back. They gave me the 888-201-4523 to call them back. I'm going to call the Citibank # I get online to make sure that's a legit #.
- Caller: Claimed to be Citibank
- lindaI got a call from this number. They said they were part of Citibank. Called a Citibank customer service number and they confirmed this was their application center.
- Caller: Citibank
- jas| 2 repliesI contacted the FBI, and they told me the number is a SCAM.
The FBI agent I spoke to assured me they're going after that number immediately. - the truthI called the toll-free number on the Citi website to apply for a credit card and they gave me 888-201-4523 in case I needed to follow-up on the status of my application.
@ Honest John: Every bank asks for your SSN. You can't bank without one. It is more than likely that the Citi representative you talked to was not familiar with the phone number to the credit card application department.- Caller: Citibank
- jayfitzThought this might have been a scam # when asked for my SSN and address. Don't worry. This is a legit citibank #. Check out https://online.citibank.com/US/JRS/pands/detail.do?ID=AOApplicationStatus which is their secure website which has this # listed for application status.
- Caller: Citibank
- Fred BalzerI just spent a good deal of time on the phone with CitiBank Member Services. The number IS legitimate. You can call Citibank's security department:
1-888-285-9696, from: https://creditcards.citi.com/contact-us/
They confirm that the number is CitiBank Credit Card Applications Center in Canada. Apparently, its nothing less than a sales call. They're trying to get you to sign up -or obtain your SSN or address- by getting you worried about something wrong at "card services".
To me it is a poor practice and I may report them to the BBB.- Caller: CitiBank Applications
- DeanIt was Citibank.
It turned out to be a robocall to congratulate me on the approval of a credit card application. That's all.
I missed the call. When I called back and gave them all my phone number, they couldn't pull it up. The automated system also didn't work. The agent finally found me using my SSN.
This was a legitimate call.- Caller: Citibank
- koam replies to Honest JohnI called the number back and it was Citi. they had called to let me know my application had been approved.
- Laney| 1 replyIt is Citi Cards but they are calling to tell you that you have been approved. It's super annoying to because they keep calling till you pick up! Even though I have already gotten email and snail mail from them and the person who helped me online verified that I was approved. So annoying! I hope this is not foreshadowing of how it will be to have a card from them.
- Caller: CitiCards
- Call type: Telemarketer
- JorgeThank you for your help
- brainiac replies to Honest Johnwrong..it is citibank or a division of...my girlfriend just applied for a card and it has to do with e-mail contacts from them..
