    Tired in Texas
I have this recorded message on my answer machine almost daily. I thought even the auto dialer would give up eventually. I have reported this to problem to the Do Not Call list. Also I spoke with Eric with Labor Law Posters this morning and he assured me the my number has been removed from their list. Eric acted like he had no idea what the Do Not Call list was all about, and they are selling Labor Law Posters. Give me a break.

We are a non-profit. Got a call today stating that we are not in compliance, would be fined thousands of dollars unless we paid $69.95.

It's the misrepresentation that we are angry about. They spoke as if they were with the State of Oregon, and in a position to know what posters we have, so as to know that we are not in compliance (which we are.)

I have been aware of this tactic for many years. They called the President of our organization, who was unaware of this. Thankfully, he called me, asking me to check that we have all the posters we are required to have, so I was able to explain the scam before he sent them money.

I believe that robocalls -- or for that matter, live cold-calls -- are illegal only to phone numbers that have been signed up with the Federal Trade Commission's "Do Not Call List" service, which you can get on almost instantly (and at no charge) by calling

    888-382-1222

FROM the specific PHONE NUMBER that you want to have listed.  (This DOES include cell-phone numbers.)

    HOWEVER....

    There are two caveats:

    1)  Only phones registered to individuals are eligible -- NOT business phones.
Since the service on this page is selling something applicable to businesses, they can robo-call your business-phone all they want.

    2)  The Congress -- who wrote the law setting up the Do Not Call registry -- made an exception for themselves...  and for all other "political" calls, including fundraising, polling (including so-called "push polling"), and all that other fun stuff.

So we still have to deal with all of that.

Got a call while at work this afternoon. I don't own a business, so I hung up after it asked if i was still at what was an old address. Didn't seem legit, and seeing it here seems to verify that.

    OMG Stop Calling me
I get calls from this company every few days.  They call from 888-202-1283 and 877-547-6641.  I have set both numbers to go directly to voicemail and filed a complaint at the link provided by Annoyed in WA.

    Thank you!

I get a call from them every two weeks.  It is very annoying especially since I don't own or am a part of a business!!  Is this a scam then?  Is this not the government calling?

We went from a land lines to cell phones for work and one of the functions on our phones is call reject.

They called last week and we entered their number in our phones.  They called earlier today and
the phone just HANGS UP ON THEM. Ha-Ha-Ha!  We get an indication that a number was rejected-
    that's it.

Don't know if you can do it with land lines, but keep it in mind if you have a cell phone for home
or work. Just an FYI: We use T-Mobile, don't know if other carriers have same feature.

This number showed up on my phone today.  I'm wary of anyone calling from a toll-free number, so I let it roll to my voicemail.  No message left.

this is not the govt calling.  It is a company that sells signs you see in break rooms telling you about labor laws.  And they are WAY overpriced.  They make it seem like they are a goverment branch, but are just a company selling signs, and sales people way way way too eager for a commission, that they will spin it like they are official government watchdogs. Will even tell you if you don't purchase their sign, you will be fined thousands of dollars.

    Irritated in Al.
For weeks now, we have received calls from this company on a daily basis and for weeks I have hung up on them not knowing that pressing 0 would eventually lead me to a "warm body" that I could unleash on.  Thanks for that info.  We have a busy optical business and do not need to waste time with fraudulent phone calls.

Automated call from company who gets your number from the governemtn when you order free posters on the DOL website. Better cotrols should be in place by our govt. to protect us, lol. Perhaps this is anotehr good arguement why we need smaller, more well run govt. They cannot even follow there own privacy laws.

this company calls about once a week. My advice is to make sure your phone number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry, and then file a complaint (on line, same web site) each time you get a call.

I'm probably getting this because I signed up to apply for NIH SBIR grants as a small business entity via Dun and Bradstreet. The govt usually has to post such business data publicly to follow transparency laws. However, I did request Dun and Bradstreet to delist the phone number (which they offer to do) but somehow the scamsters both last year and this got hold of my number (a cell number and my only number) and home address. I only get a couple different organizations each year bothering me, so it's not too bad. I really appreciate this website and others who maintain a community-sourced directory of such nuisances. Also many thanks to those who reported these parasites to authorities with ability to shut down outright illegal operations. Unfortunately it's probably a simple matter for crooks to reincorporate and start up again under different names with different numbers these days.

See www.laborlawpostercenter.com. I agree with other posts that this robocall recording implies that you've ordered something and asks you to press 1 to confirm that they're sending your posters to the correct address (which they also harvested from public listings.)

I pressed zero repeatedly, got a human, asked him how to be removed from their list, he tried to explain why I wanted their posters, I said just remove me from your list, he said alright, I asked if he needed to confirm my phone number for removal, and he said, "Nope, we called ya" and hung up.

These people have called several times wanting me to purchase their Labor Law Posters (required by law)
I told the lady to please remove my name from the list that I do not wish to purchase any of their products.
The lady was very rude and told me that by law I have to have these posters displayed to all employees in my office. I informed her that I am the only one here in my office and she did'nt know what to say.
These people are a JOKE ! avoid ever talking to them on the phone I get at least 3 calls a day from them now.

I called them back and a recording said to press 1 to order or press 2 to be added to the do not call list.  I pressed 2, the robot recited my number and said I have been added to the do not call list.  Time will tell.
