They called me and they left voicemails.

Received a call about a problem with my account.  I don't use the M&T Bank they say has the account problem.

I have an MT account and called number on back of card instead.  No hold or fraud activity was reported.  Call was a scam.

M&T does not and will not call you relative to fraudulent card activity, especially not through an automated system. DO NOT provide your card number. Hang up and call customer service number on back of card if you suspect any actual fraud.

Got an automated call from this number.  My bank sends notification through the mail and I am on the Do Not Call List.

Scam call received this AM. Said fraud alert with Debit card. Left this bogus call back#

said they were the fraud dept from M&T and wanted my card number.  i don't have an account with M&T but even if I did I wouldn't have given them my card number!

Ditto - received same call about fraudulent activity on M&T debit account.  We won't have an account there any longer, so knew it wasn't right.

Just received a call from this number but I don't have an account with M & T which was the subject of the call. Supposed fraudulent activity on my account. Just hung up!

Got the same call from the same number claiming to be M&T.  Knew it was a scam.  Called the provided number and did not enter information but tried to get to a "representative".  Not possible.  Automated scamming call.

I also received a vm saying that my account was on hold due to fraudulent activity.  I do not have an M&T account. Scammers.

Got a call from this number saying i have debit account problem. I do not use M&T, but i use BOA. I heard BOA Ithaca branch's accounts were all sold to M&T but I was not sure if it was true. So I called and they wanted account number so i just hung up. Think it was a scam

Same as everyone else! Do not call back this says scam all over it!!

This number just called my company cell number saying there was a fraud hold placed on my M&T Account.
My company doesn't use M&T Bank, and neither do I.
It's a scam.

Called my cell phone, saying the fraud prevention department had been alerted to unusual activity on my account.  I don't use M&T bank but they wanted my account number and there was no way to talk to an operator.  Definitely a scam.

Same thing.  Thought it sounded fishy.

I called the number on the back of my M&T card and they confirmed that they are aware of this SCAM, but haven't gotten the word out to all of their customers.

PLEASE NOTE:  If you return the call and give them your card information, they will steal all of your information and your money!!!!

Same - recorded message from M/T Fraud Department - if I stayed on the line " a customer service representative" would have assisted me. Don't have an M&T account and never had. My husband received a similar message last week on his cell phone.
