Tired of repeat calls from this number. Callers never leave a message. And when I call back, it's busy or they won't answer--ever. So I BLOCKED them with my handy dandy phone option. So nice to have uninterrupted days and nights again!

Got  2 calls from this number within 20 min apart, Nobody there. Must be some Obama thing.

I've received numerous calls. When I called them back, it was Discover card, trying to interest me in more products.

got a call from the phone number, heard a t.v. in the background, nothing else, said hello multiple times but no response, thinking its just a prank caller who doesnt know how to turn the t.v. down. It was definently an ad playing on the t.v. though, or atleast sounded like it.

this # called, I answered and they asked for my wife. When I said she wasn't available, they just hung up on me. Fu--ers.

This # has now called me 3 times in the last hour.  The second one, I told the person not to call and he said that they wouldn't. Not 20 minutes later, they called again. WTF. Is this even legal?

It's discover card trying to sell their credit protection service... you likely have a card

I keep answering and no one responds.

This number keeps calling my cell phone and there is never anyone there.  If it is truly Discover, I am going to trash their damned card.

I think it is Discover.  We have a Discover card and they have always been trying to call our house for some reason as long as we've used their card.  They are constantly trying to sell credit card protection or some other side option.  Everyday when I get home from work, there is a blank message on the answering machine from this number and all you can hear is static.  Never a message.  It's EVERYDAY!

888-204-8874 was Discover Card telemarketers. Called Discover requested no phone solicitations, service rep was very helpful and calls will stop by 30 days.

I just received ANOTHER call with nobody on the other end. Also, got one at 9pm last night. I called the number and got hold of a live person (sounded like it was in India) and threatened them with the FTC if they called again since I AM on the DO NOT CALL REGISTER. He said he removed me immediately.
We'll see!!!!!!!!!

I called back and someone finally answered. Yep it is Discover Card, which I do have, and told them if they keep calling I will gladly close my account with them. Appologized over and over and told me she will put me on their do not call list but might take a few days to take effect. They have been calling at least 6 X a day. Frustrating to say the least!!

This number has been calling numerous times. So much that I recognized the 800 number and looked through my caller id to see if I was not imaginging this. I am not - below is a list of dates and time this number is calling - no one talks and sometimes just hungs up. It's beginning to feel like harrassment or trying to find out when someone is home.

I've had the same experience as Gia!  Constant calls throught the day.   Never a message.  Next time I'm going to bow a whistle into the ear of whomever might be on the line!  I've got children napping during the day and they get disturbed!
Also, for those who hear nothing, you need to wait a moment for the "human" to get connected as the company is using an automated dialer.... if there is a pick up, then you  will get connected.

Discover's "credit protection service" protects THEM, not us.  We still have to pay the balance of the account, even if we're layed off or injured.  But WE'RE the ones paying for it, if we sign up.  It guarantees that in case we get injured or layed off, they will get paid off, then we'll owe the money to the insurance company that pays them.  Credit Protection protects the card company, not the card holder who pays for it.  It's not just Discover, every card company pushes this product, and you can see why.
