- Shelia Franklin| 1 replyPlease help stop these creeps , it was unknown call telling me he was an investigator Mike Hunter telling me to call 8882072079. I did not call, please help
- Caller: Don't know , unknown
- CWG40 replies to Shelia FranklinDo not return the calls. This Mike Hunter has a history on 800notes of calling women and harassing them. I've heard him on that company's robo-greeter. He is aggressive and talks like an ex-con. He appears to work for this company which according to BBB is some kind of repo company. I guess they also do debt collection.
Invest in a call blocker and ignore the calls. This Hunter person seems to be violating the federal FAIR DEBT COLLECTION ACT.
Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a DIME until the debt is validated.
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.
If they are bothering you,
Report them:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection
Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now. - CWG40They ID themselves as United States Locating Service.

- Andrea Tucker| 1 replyA man stating his name is MIke Hunter and investigator from Dallas has called our home over 30 times in the past week stating he is investigating our son for Felony Theft regarding a vehicle he owes payments on. The vehicle is is describing my son traded in two years ago. When we asked what police dept he was with and his badge number he stated it didn't matter which dept he worked for or his badge number. He has threatened to subpoena my husband which is ludicrous. We have had to unplug our phone to keep him from calling us. He has now started calling stating he is investigating our daughter. The name provided is an ex daughter in law........................... It is a scam and he is a con man.
- Call type: Debt collector
- M.H. replies to Andrea TuckerUnfornately there son was aleady in jail and his for mutiple felonies and still have warrants for his arrest and was concealing and hiding a vehicle that we located and had recovered. Her son is now being looked for by the State of Texas. This not a scam or con. It is very real. If you dont try to conceal or steal property, then you will never hear from us.
- Eduard replies to fedup&tiredI could confirm and this person actually a second employee named Karen from Drive away Auto in Houston tell me that she couldn't pass me the call to Mike but she was affirmative he works there. He's phone number comes from an application and he will use you for what you answer to build more info. you can see his face cause he will tell you stuff that its not real. Best thing to do is to do a report on your state and call the state of houston and talk to the fraud department.
