My wife got a call from a Steve Edwards extension # 613 claiming that he was calling from Frank & Newhall which he claimed to be a 3rd party collection agency. He was calling my wife because he claimed that she wrote 11 bad checks in 2004 from a Compass Bank account to places such as Domino's pizza and Chick-fil-A; the dollar amounts were ridiculously low such as $10 or so. He claimed that she now owes $3000 due to accumulated fees and interests. I told my wife to not release any of her personal info because things were not adding up. My wife has never had a bank account with Compass Bank nor ever used checks to purchase anything. The caller didn't have any of my wife's complete info; he only had partial SSN and partial DL#. We called Compass Bank and they said they had no record of any bank account with my wife's SSN. He said he would call back in two days to see how we can work this out since we told him we were going to look into all this first. When he calls back I will tell him to send me a bill in the mail otherwise he can go [***] himself. DON'T FALL FOR THIS SCAM...THEY'RE TRYING TO GET YOUR PERSONAL INFO THAT THEY'RE LACKING AND YOUR BANK INFO.

true info on the checks or not im not friggin paying anything dont call me back.

So my uncle I have not seen in years calls my mom and says i should call these people for some bad checks before i get arrested i have no checks so I call and its checks from 2004 WTF and they say i owe some BS amount over a thousand and i will be arrested if i dont give them my bank info now.I know in TX these checks after two years are dead and they cant touch me not only that but they want me to take their word for it without any checks to show me this is a scam from the jump and don't call this number back unless you like being insulted and scammed.
