Just came across an old email on March 12, 2012 from Puget Sound Energy that looked authentic...went to their website. There was an Email Scan Alert message, saying 'there was a nationwide phishing scam involving fraudulent emails claiming to be from PSE' with a description of what their bill should look like compared to the one in the emails.

Got a call today that there is some red flag on my account and they are required to contact me before disconnecting my service. Contacted PSE and they said there is nothing like that on my account.

Got a call, the woman said two months PSE (Puget Sound Energy) bill is past due because of my bank problem. she told me to make money order right away and give it to technician to avoid disconnection who was on the way to me.
I checked my PSE account it was all okay. Technician guy didn't show up.
It is certainly PSE phone number. What is going on???

this is a total scam. I have gotten multiple calls from these fraudulent companies.  they call on the weekends and holidays and say that you are 'red flagged' to have services cut.  they then proceed to tell you that you have to go purchase a cash card to pay them.  they give you an 800 number to call them back, and it is always a generic sounding automated voice message.  TOTAL SCAM!!

A note from Puget Sound Energy was left on my door stating my gas was turned off and to get my line turned back on, call this number. I called the number and it was a bunch of advertisements!

I called the same number back 3 hours later and got a Puget Sound agent. I brought up the advertisements (trip to Bahamas, $100 gift cards, etc.) and he had no clue what I was talking about.

888-225-5773 is a legit number to call pse.  scammers alter their caller id to show this number when they call you.

Last Tuesday the Cafe was victim to the Puget Sound Energy scam. We got a call from a person posing as a PSE employee that said our power is scheduled to be shut off at 1:30 unless we make a payment over the phone. When I told him our payments are made via ACH, he said that must have been disrupted by the bank. I told him he was full of crap, after which the conversation elevated. I told him to come by personally and I'd personally "write him a check" to which his response was "you better be wearing a bulletproof vest".
Now the gloves are off.
I called the number back to find the answering machine was surprisingly authentic. We told the person that answered the phone what happened, and they apologized but still kept to the script that we owed money.
I called the real PSE as well as the police and reported what happened. The police officer told we this group has fleeced millions from individuals and small businesses in Seattle, and one elderly woman paid them $3,000.
I thought if they are stealing from elderly persons, they need to get hurt, so I went to Dicks Sporting Goods and bought a $15 air horn. Now I've been calling about a dozen times a day and blasting them when they answer. What are the chances that criminals have workers compensation (L&I) insurance?

Called and said my payments were not paid for for Electric and that they were turning it off if I didn't send money. Funny my bills are paid 1 day after I get them. I hung up on them.

Same BS as others, calling on behalf of my electric company 2 technicians are in route to my address because electric bill is 2 months delinquent. Called electric co. and they said it's a scam but some people have been duped by it. Jerk gave me a number 877-587-0548 to call to keep my power from being turned off

Got a call from this phone# too.  Funny, they must of hacked the caller ID since this is the real phone# to PSE.  I laughed at the caller and asked for his name, what company he worked for and that I work for an attorney.  He hung up on me!!!!

I received a call from this number from Pudget Sound Energy at my work.  I only caught the very end of the message to call an 800 number.  I know this is a scam since they don't even have the business name spelled correctly.  (should be Puget, not Pudget)

Got a 2nd call from this # yesterday at 4:20 pm.  Man said my acct is past due, needed to pay asap or would be disconnected.  Said I didn't have PSE, this was a scam for $$ & they spoofed PSE's #.  He said if I didn't pay now, would be disconnected today!  Told him can't disconnect something that's not connected, so bring it on! but asked his name & to keep talking so my phone can "back track" to the # he's actually calling from (only law enforcement can do this) . But he didn't know that & hung up on me.

This was around years ago & is back, so emailed PSE.
