Recorded call from "Molena and Woods" requesting me to call and speak with "Mr Reynolds" at ext 100, and using a "case number".  Googling the phone number led me here.  If a search doesn't produce a company, I do not return.
    Caller ID: Toll-Free
    Caller: "Molena and Woods"

What a bunch of CR@POLA... Treat people fairly is a lie , just the way they tried to SCAM me. Looks like from this web site they are running something else like an escort service. Somebody had posted here that they were putting papers on peoples cars in Houston about escort services in New York City. Still waiting on the sheriff to come and pick me up for a debt we never had. They look in a newspaper st the death section. They look for the survivors and call them saying the person that died had a bad debt they are collecting and want you to pay it. Problem is the card was never issued and number was not even close issued by that bank. FRAUD  FRAUD FRAUD ..IF you owe,  Pay the credit companies not these hoes.

yes,my wife and i have also been harrased by these so called people about an old c.c. debt first wanting to make to payments as a settlement that were to large for us to pay, then after that the threats of being sued in court for the amount owed, plus intrst., and court fees.we have been looking into other options like bankrupcey and debt consldtn.,but since have been threatened with being sued that the matter is being pursued and that my wife has a court date already, even though was never served prsonaly or,posted on our place of residence, after calling the county courts office they showed no record of a court date and told me to contact the collector (moreno & woods) to find out wich court they filed with and the case number for that court.when i called and spoke to mr.tinsdale he stated that he could not speak to me over the phone anymore and only in court,i asked him how do i know wich court to go to if you do not tell me wich one you filed at and he got upset talking legal terms i payed no attention to,since all i want to know is where to show up for court then he stated that a constable would serve my wife and could then obtain the court info. so the last call to her before this saying that a court date was already set was obviousley a lie to get her to make payment.she still has not been served, and we are not trying to dodge the money we owe just cannot affored to pay i feel this extensive harrasment comes from the debt if not already is very close to reaching sol,if we can not come up with the settlement amount before being served wich we probabley can not we are ready to go to court and are not scared about it just see it as a major inconvienance and set back, this is just to inform people the tactics they are willing to take to collect and not to believe everything they say, i feel we may be served to appear in court and we are ready to take that step if we need to.

The suit MUST be filed either in the county where the contract was initiated (where you lived when you got the credit card) or in the county that you are now residing.

If you have papers from a REAL court it will have the state, county and district of the court along with an address and phone numbers of the court.  If these court papers do NOT have this information on them.  THEY ARE FRAUDULENT!  Call YOUR county court - civil/small claims division AND the county that you resided in when you got the credit card and ask if you are a party to any legal actions.  (Some counties have this information lisyed on their county court web-site, you can see if you're a litigant, but you can't see the document...so you'd have to request then through the court.)

IF you find anything you have a period of time inwhich you can 'answer' the summons.  If they have tried to sue you far from where you live and the papers were served to an address that is NOT yours, you can request the action be dismissed.  It doe NOT hurt to say that you do not believe this debt is yours, that they are giving you information over the phone that this debt is past the Statue of Limitations no matter whom it might belong to....  And that they REFUSE to send you any proof of this debt that they are trying to collect from you.

In the meantime---write them a leeter and request any PROOF they have that this is your debt, any contracts, payments or legal documents (they won't send them - but if they take you to court the judge will MAKE them bring in the proof IF YOU ASK FOR IT!), tell them they cannot contact you except by mail and only with legal proof that this is your debt.  Send it Certified, Return Receipt (about 4 bucks) save a copy of the letter and the green card with the signature of the person at their address who had to sign for it.  DO NOT SIGN YOR LETTER.  They can use that signature to make phoney documents that they will use against you if they are given the chance.

        Good Luck.

OH MY GOSH!!!  I'm so glad I found this site.  I couldn't make out the name of these people when they left me voice messages and I tried to google what I thought was the name and nothing came up.

Your post made a lot of sense so I wanted to run this by you because these people are absolutely INSANE!!!  I don't even owe a debt and these people are harrassing and threatening me on a daily basis.  I've recently pulled my credit report and I don't see them on there but I do see another collection agency on there that shouldn't be so I don't know if they got on there under another name or what.  I'm in the process of trying to figure all that out now.

I cannot believe that people go through such lengths to scam people.  It's one thing if you actually owe the debt; and still there's an appropriate way to talk to people when trying to collect that debt, but it's something all together different when you tell them that you don't owe the debt and can provide proof that you don't owe the debt.  Yet, they cannot provide any proof of you being responsible for the debt.

So now that I finally have an address, I was going to send a Debt Collection Dispute Letter that basically disputes the debt and requests they provide me with specific documentation that would tie me to this debt; while siting the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

But I don't know if I should just change my number and leave it alone, after reading all of the posts on this site.  I've never received any correspondence from them so I don't even know if they have my home address or not.  I assume they do since they have my phone number and may have accessed my credit report.  I've been waiting for something in the mail from them, so I could send out the Dispute Letter.

I only spoke to one guy VERY BRIEFLY.  I told him I didn't owe the debt and he asked me why I felt I didn't owe it and I didn't even go into it; I just hung up the phone because I knew where the conversation was going.  So, I don't even answer the calls.  I let it go to voicemail.  Sometimes they leave a message.  Sometimes they don't.

I just wanted a second opinion of what you think I should do at this point.

          Thanks.

I also found this site by simply googling "Russel Tinsdale" coincidence? I think NOT! Good luck with your situation, I'm taking this as far as I can!

I receive a voicemail today asking to respond immediately to a case # in which a court date was scheduled.  I called the #1-866-928-3160 and spoke to a Terry Jacobs...I was told that my 25 year old daughter has not paid her credit card since 2007 owing $1400, but he said to avoid court cost and sewing, she could settle her acct for $400 today. I asked him many questions and he always came back with good answers like a scam artist.  I ended up paying the $400 as I thought I was helping my daughter.  I should have never done this...knowing that he was giving confidential info about my daughter, no knowing who I was talking to and not talking to my daughter first....I have leaned from this experience.  I contacted my daughter immedietely and she said that this account was paid up in full and was closed in 2007.  I contact my bank to stop payment, but the payment had already gone thru.  I calLED Moreno and Woods and spoke to a secretary and left a message.  I waited 2 hours and called them again and spoke to a an Atty, presumably by the name of Russell Tinsbury or something like that. I tried to explain the situation and he was the most arrogant person and rude individual I ever spoke to...he hung up on me.  I faxed a letter of to them and I immediately received a call from Terry Jacobs who was very apologetic and asked me to fax the documentation to him proving that the account was paid in full.  My daugher had a recent Credit Bureau Print Out showing a zero balance and contacted her bank for statements showing payment.  I then called my bank to ask them if they knew of this co and they never heard of them.  I told them that this may be a scam and they said they would close my debit acct and filed a Scam Report..I think their report goes to the FBI.  I will call the bank again on Monday and I will also fax the proof of payment info to this fake CA.  I lost only $400, but I will go to the full extreme to try and stop these people.  Any suggestion or help from anyone will be greatly appreciated.  What should I do when I talk to them on Monday?  I know that they will not reimburse me but I want to get the satisfaction of telling them that the FBI is going to get them.  Please advise.

I think that first of all you should be smart enough to realize that the FBI has bigger and better things to do then worry about a coolection agency.  All you need to do is provide them with the information stating that this account is paid.  Without proper documentation they can't just close it out.  You need a physical letter from whoever you paid this account too.  Then fax it to them and talk to the nicest person you can possibly find in there office.  I used to work in collections and everyone that does the job is not a scam artist.  You can't just assume these things because you could be surprised of the people that are actually trying to help you.

            Joey Bisby...

True the FBI doesn't give a rat's xxx about collection agencies, and certainly wouldn't care about a small potatoes operation like Moreno And Woods...

Do yourself a favor though, get your head out of that place the sun doesn't shine (no offense intended and I hope none taken...) and see Moreno And Woods for what they are ... a bunch of bottom feeding junk debt collectors, who as it's been well documented lie seven-ways till Sunday to achieve their means - scare people into paying debt that they do not owe...

As I've stated in other posts here, if the debt is valid then deal with it accordingly, but if it isn't make them prove it, after all the burden of proof is on them not you if the debt is not valid...

Talk to someone nice at Moreno And Woods... that's hilarious!! There's not a nice and/or decent person among those vermin...

True, there are collection agencies that go by the book and play by the rules, and be that as it is, Moreno And Woods in not one of them...

Wake up Joey...not everybody in the collections business are nice guys or do they play by the rules as I just said...

Why Moreno And Woods is getting their xxx raked over the fire here is because they (as had been well  documented...) do not go by the book or play by the rules...

Moreno and Woods contacted me threatening me with jail over a 300 dollar credit card. They wanted me to wire them 3000.00.. that included all the late fees and over the limit fees. I called my credit card company today and it was turned over to collections but not to Moreno and Woods. A guy named Russell Tisdale told me he was filing a civil suit against me. He said if I didnt get it taken care of he was taking me to court. I checked out their site and my 10 year old neice could make a better site than that. I told him I was thinking about getting my bills consolidated and he said my credit card company didnt work with consolidaters. Be careful people!

        Denise...

The first thing you need to do is send these vermin a certified (return receipt) letter telling them to immediately cease calling you at your residence...

By law in most states, they have to stop calling you upon receiving such a letter. If they continue to call, then inform them all future calls will be recorded in accordance with your right to do so as applicable by law in the state you live in...

In your post, you didn't specify what it is they called you about, but for the sake of my response I'll assume it's about a debt issue...

If the debt is valid, then you need to deal with it accordingly, but on the other hand if it isn't, then demand they send you proof the debt is valid and demand any and all documentation they have that establishes that fact...

These vermin are well known and documented liars, and they have no spine and will bend and/or break the rules to suit the purpose - which is to scare and/or intimidate you into paying...

Collection people from the agencies that are doing business as M&W, M&Z, etc are posting on this thread.  They are giving FALSE information, ie. telling people that they have had money taken from their accounts; they are HARRASSING people who give legitimate information, ie. name calling, telling people they are scumbags, etc. ; they are MONITORING the information here and they are angry!

DO NOT LET THEM SCARE YOU.  Thay are the scumbags, they are criminals.  They are only interested in easy victims who will send them money out of fear.

IF THEY CALL YOU -- do NOT give them ANY personal information, no bank account numbers, no credit card numbers, no names, addresses, NOTHING.

If they say you are being sued, you will receive the court papers FROM THE COURT (not from them) and you will have 21-30 days to respond TO THE COURT.  They cannot have you arrested, they cannot threaten legal action UNLESS they have initiated legal action--in which case--you will be sent papers FROM THE COURT.

Do NOT send them ANYTHing with any personal information on it.  NEVER sign anything you send them (like a decease and desist letter to stop contacting you, and only via mail with PROOF of the debt)...  They will use that signature to produce fraudulent documents to use against you.

These people are con artists and criminals.  Do not let them bully you.

Moreno And Woods list their address as 1900 Empire Blvd, #252 in Webster New York - that's in the Rochester NY area. This address is a UPS store located in the Baytown Plaza Shopping Center. As to where they are "actually" located who knows??? This particular UPS store offers mail forwarding services, so it could be the mail is received there and forward elsewhere, and who knows where that is??? A recent letter sent to them was signed for by an idividual named M. Morreale - unknown if this is a male or female, but be that as it is, this individual is no doubt an employee of the UPS store referenced here...
These people are liars, and that has been proven and substantiated. If any has any dealings with these people, do not believe anything they say, and demand that the debt is valid, and also demand any and all documentation they claim to have that validates the debt...
No legitimate collection agency is going to use the kind of sleaze tactics these people do. They claim my Dad owes Bank Of America almost $18,000 but they have as yet to respond to my demands for any and all documentation that they have that this debt is valid. Considering my Dad has never applied for and has never had a Bank Of America Visa card, I'll just say this ... Moreno And Woods are suffering from a severe case of fecal retention!! My question is this ... where are their offices??? They aren't at the address I mention here, reference that the address is a UPS store...

You can't put people in jail for collecting on debts that consumers are racking up everywhere.  In all eyes people don't realize that collection agencies are helping the economy by collecting money that we would have never seen.  Get your facts straight before you just start shooting off at the mouth.  Tell your daughter to keep all important documentation in case this was to ever happen agian.

Moreno And Woods are the scum of collectors, and it's been well documented time and again that they routinely try collecting debt that either the person does not owe - as has been the case many times...

Or, they try collecting debt that's beyond the statue of limitations and be that as it also is, the tactics they use are sleaze!

A real legitimate collection agency does not generally use such sleaze tactics as these vermin do, and they play by the rules - which (again...) it is well documented Moreno And Woods does not play by the rules...

That is the issue we who post here have with them...

If a person owes a debt, and the debt is proven valid, then in all eyes the person owes said debt should pay it, but not to these vermin!

ONE GOOD THING ABOUT BEING ON THE NET IS THAT YOU CAN QUICKLY FIND OUT THINGS ABOUT PEOPLE WHO LIE TO BENEFIT THEMSELVES OR ANY "CAUSE" THEY MAY HAVE!!!! I DON'T LIKE COLLECTION AGENCIES ANYMORE THAN THE NEXT PERSON. BUT EVERYDAY I READ THINGS THAT ARE VERY DISTURBING TO ME! MANY OF YOU COME HERE TO POST INFORMATION THAT IS, FOR THE MOST PART, ERRONEOUS! IT SEEMS TO ME THAT MOST OF YOU SEEM TO HAVE "AN AX TO GRIND", FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER. YOU WERE MOST LIKELY EX-COLLECTORS YOURSELVES, BUT WERE TERMINATED! I'VE SEEN WHAT YOU'RE DOING DONE MANY TIMES BEFORE, IN VARIOUS INDUSTRIES. YOU DO IT AS TO CAUSE TROUBLE FOR YOUR FORMER EMPLOYERS, OR TO CAUSE A SLOW-DOWN OR HALT IN THE INCOMES OF THOSE WHO MAY HAVE HURT YOU SOMETIME IN THE PAST. YOU (THINK) THAT WHAT YOU'RE DOING IS SOMEHOW "JUST." BUT IT'S NOT. INSTEAD OF HELPING THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE TRYING TO FIND GOOD INFORMATION ABOUT AGENCIES THAT MAY BE CALLING, YOU SPEND YOUR TIME PROVIDING HALF-ASSED INFO. YOU (YOURSELVES) ARE THE ONES WHO SHOULD BE ASHAMED! THOUGH COLLECTION AGENCIES MAY NOT BE OUR FAVORITE BUSINESSES, THEY DO HAVE A FUNCTION IN OUR SOCIETY. THEY ARE HERE TO GET BACK FUNDS THAT MAY BE OWED TO CREDITORS THAT [THEY] COULD NOT COLLECT THEMSELVES. LET'S CALL THOSE AGENCIES OUR COUNTRY'S "NECESSARY EVILS." BUT KEEP THE FOCUS ON (NECESSARY)! OUR ECONOMY IS BAD ENOUGH WITHOUT YOU CRAZIES GIVING OUT INFORMTION THAT COULD VERY WELL MAKE THINGS WORSE FOR THOSE IN DEBT! YA WANNA GIVE 'EM INFO? TELL THEM WHAT IT TAKES TO MAINTAIN GOOD CREDIT. TELL THEM THAT, IF THEY KNOW THAT THEY OWE, THEN THEY NEED TO FESS UP AND PAY WHAT'S OWED! DON'T GIVE THEM AN "OUT" BY ALLOWING THEM TO SAY..."I READ ON THE  NET THAT YOUR OFFICE WAS A FRAUD." OR ANY OF THE NUMEROUS BITS OF CRAP I READ EACH DAY! I SHOULD START POSTING THE REAL NAMES OF EVERYONE WHO POSTS A COMMENT IN THESE TYPES OF SITES! MAYBE THEN YOU'LL STOP DOING WHAT YOU DO!!!! Watcher...

Has anyone ever told you that typing in all upper case is equal to shouting??? Be that as it is, typing in all upper case isn't going to get your point across any better...

        That having been said...

It's been ~very well documented and proven~ these vermin who call themselves Moreno And Woods routinely try collecting on debt that is not valid...

And they use cheap dime-store strong-arm tactics to accomplish thier objective, which is to get you to pay up. They don't give a rat's xxx if the debt is not valid...

However if the debt is valid and the person does owe said debt, then hey, be adult and step up and deal with it...

But if it ~is not valid~ and these vermin are strong-arming you, call their bluff! Tell then either put up or shut up...

As I have said here before ... the reason why Moreno And Woods is getting their sorry xxx raked over the fire is because they do not follow the law and go by the rules governing collection agencies...

Tell us ... where is it written that it says impersonating law enforcement, or impersonating a lawyer, or threatening a person with arrest and imprisonment is legal???

Moreno And Wooods has done that, and as has been previously stated, very well documented and proven. For all we know,m they would try to impersonate God or The Pope if they could get away with it...

A legitimate collection agency would not uyse the tactics these vermin at Moreno And Woods use...
