Calling people representing themselves as Law Enforcment trying to scam people of of their personal information and credit card numbers.

Saying there cops

called said they were looking for my daughter and the police was coming to my house to serve me a paper or take me to jail if i didnt tell them how to reach my daughter or pay her bill. i had two hours to call them back.

David Miller calls from very loud call center - doesn't really know how to use his phone.  He called 4 times in a row, I said hello, and he can't seem to speak, finally got it.  Then proceeds to tell me he is the police and needs to serve papers, long scare story of what he is going to do with me, failure to appear, the entire story.  Number he is calling from does not match the call back number I asked him to provide.  888 232 9904 he said he was the police, however, I asked what company do you work for - he answered doc u file - ?????  Total scam!!!!!!!!  Be careful - texas number on caller id reads 469-941-9538

We got a call from a Orlando number from someone named David Miller who said to call 888-232-9904 which points to J&E Financial Firm. They said they are process servers  from " Docu File with a hyphen" and they will postpone the summons by 2hrs. I told them to serve the papers regardless. They were asking for a phone number for my sister-in-law. They guy said my phone was 1 of 6 in the list to call, but the only one that would pick up.

This is a scam. Find out who this is you need your ass kicked!!!

These people have been calling me for almost a year.  I just refuse to speak to them anymore.  They say they are trying to collect a 12 year old bill.  Now they have taken to calling people from my past even one that I have not spoken to in 10 years or so (Divorce - his elder parents); Saying they are the County Sheriff department and upsetting them.  They called my place of employment, asked for my supervisor and told him they wanted to serve me papers.  This was months ago and they still have not shown up.  They have used several different case numbers and I really wish I could guess where they come up with info that is so old and useless.  The long and short is they do not know Texas Law!  They are the ones who need to be served papers and it does not take but a minute to find Texas law on collections and state statuette of limitations;  A lot less time than they are spending trying to cross the brick wall they have found in this case.

Called trying to say owed a bill and never had credit card of such , then called another person and told them I had 2 hours to call or they would have me arrested

It's a scam!!!!! Do not give them any personal information. Know your rights Google Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Take the time to read the Act. If someone calls you and refuses to provided you with written details about the debt it is a scam...Report them to your local police department. Record the calls file a complaint with the Attorney Generals office. Let your employer know you have been scammed, make them aware you have filed a police report.

My wife is deaf and they  are calling our number with threatening Phone calls pretending to be Police and trying to Scam money out of us never heard of them before. they say they are  J E Financial, name is jessica who answered. It is a company who is trying to collect money on Payday Loans, that are Illegal in  state of NC. represent epayday loans it is a call center.

Aloes my father in laws house told him that they had wsrrent for my arrest and that I had 24 hrs to contact them but couldn't provide information on whet the wsrrent wad issued for.this company is out of Texas

I have recieved calls from 337-214-8503 (Consumer Locators) which traces back to Ymac, Magicjack and also to J and E Financial Firm - all are somehow involved with each other and they are calling saying they have papers to serve to a person who does not even live at this address.
I have told them many, many times that no one by that name lives here but they just tell me that my number is listed as the main form of contact.
They will not stop calling and have even said that they will continue to call unless I track down this mystery person for them!

Calls from "process servers" calling to "serve papers" are often shady or fraudulent debt collectors collecting on equally shady or fraudulent "debts", using the implied threats of a "lawsuit" to evade their legal obligation to produce proof (validation) of alleged debts if consumers dispute them.

Receiving such calls providing some callback number "to resolve the matter before it goes to court" are a further indication of illegal deceptive collection, as process servers have no interest in "resolving" a lawsuit.  They are just hired to serve papers on already filed lawsuits, and sign an affidavit certifying that they did so.

Receiving a collection call when you know you don't have any delinquent debts is an indicator of potential fraudulent collection.

Using an old or maiden name is a further suspicious indicator, as it suggests the debt collector "located" you via skip-tracing, and such identification is no more reliable than the competence and honesty of the debt collector, which you already have reason to suspect.

As for not being able to give you any information, that is how this "con" is played.  The whole goal is to get you to pay, due to this implied yet unproven threat, and allowing you to dispute or forcing them to validate is what they are trying to avoid.  The less information you have, the better, as information might only make you more sure that the alleged debt isn't owed by you, and undermine their various deceptions.

You have four separate indicators of potential fraud:
1)  "process server calls"
2)  use of your maiden name
3)  you don't owe anything
4)  they can't give you any information

Additional indicators, noted for their absence:

5)  You haven't receiveg an FDCPA required "g" letter, notifying you of the alleged debt and your right to dispute it, yet they clearly know how to contact you.

6)  Check your local courthouse, if you want, to verify there is no lawsuit filed against either your current or maiden name.

Note how rapidly these scams produce multiple indicators of fraud, by their deviations from normal expected legal debt collection practice, even in just one call.

What names and phone numbers are they using?

I also received a call today from J & E Financial indicating that they are attempting to serve a summons utilizing the local sheriff.  They tried to get me to "verify" my information and asked for the last four of my SSN and my DOB.  Not a chance. Did not provide that information.  Caller, "Luke" would not provide any information regarding the "civil lawsuit" he was threatening.  I advised him to discontinue calling this number and read my number aloud so it was recorded that I notified them to stop calling.  I then said, "If you are truly serving a summons....serve it."  This isn't even a debt collector...simply a scam.

They called me from a 407-374-8851 number.  Same thing: Said she had court papers for me that the sheriffs office would serve if I didn't call 866-863-1625 in an hour.

Called saying I had one hour to pay a debt, which I did not owe. Said they would be sending sheriff. I am reporting them to the State Attorney General. Criminal charges will be filed against them. Consumer fraud and illegal. Tele no. was 866-863-1625.

Called today for someone I knew in past.she said she will send the sheriff to serve papers and will also add to the complaint that the person I knew in the past was gonna be charged with fraud for giving them my number.she was very rude and tried to get information from me. I hung up the phone and called right back. I then called the 866-863-1756# and spoke to a guy who said he will remove my number and for privacy issues he cannot give me any info. But they can call me for info. Well for privacy laws I cannot give any info on someone I know from my past was my reply..

This company called and said they are sending a sheriff to my job to deliver court papers to me in front of

They're scammers - tell them to send you a debt validation letter (showing original creditor, date of loan/debt, amount owed and date of last payment.  Will also show if they are licensed to claim and collect debt in your state).  Remember - no proof of debt = no debt owed.  Report the caller to the FTC, the FBI and also your state's Attorney General.  Let them know that the FBI is monitoring and recording all calls from them - this may stop them from calling you.
