Call from a Miss Johnson from Fredrick, Goldstein, and Sell(?) trying to locate a family member of mine.  Was told to give a message ("Call 1-888-234-4685 and refer to Case No. 165431").  This person has called our home several times with the same message.  Not only have they called me, they have also called every relative associated with this family member.  After calling each of us (none of us gave the caller the telephone number of the relative) the caller called the relative.  This is harrassment and we want it stopped NOW!

I just received a call from these guys in regards to a student loan.  They have threatened to freeze all of my accounts and seize my assets.  They didn't have any correct information.  The outstanding debt was for a school loan and it was four years prior to me even attending college.  Shouldn't we be a little worried these guys have access to all our personal information?  He had my social, and it was evident he had pulled a credit report. It was extremely creepy he knew where I had lived and how many bank accounts I had.  So what do I do now?  Any help would be appreciated!

Got a call from Alex, said he was from the law firm of McGuire and Hummel. The phone # he called in on was 716-220-1770 which is AAA in NY? Said he needed to talk to me or my attorney to clarify some info before moving forward.

I got a call today also, from this # my CID was 716-200-1770....donno if you miss read it or not but I tt them it was about a bad check /ach draft I had a few months ago, they wanted to offered me a chance to resolve prior to filling it for a judgment. I set something up with them, it seems good to me I got an fax sent over about it prior to giving payments over phone. Worked so far, I kno I did what they called about so they seem legit.

i got a call from somebody with the last name Frank, but they were asking for my neighbor and they called me on my cell phone. they wanted me to give them her phone number, address and social security number because it was a legal matter. what i started to notice that there are more then just that number. hopefully they call back and i'll try to get the other number so every one can see those numbers.

This man just called my job and said his name was Daniel Patrick from the Fredricks, Goldstein law firm and said they were sending a sherrif officer out to pick me up on an old debt I needed to settle.  First of all the debt is being disputed and I explained that to him.  He said he had a court petition for this and will have my wages deducted.  I told him to give me his info because i'm contacting my lawyer.  He got very aggrevated and said well make sure he faxes something to me because I will NOT speak to an attorney until i know you have his legal representation.  Then he gave me a fax number and his number and when I said I will have the attorney call you now and fax something, he hung up.  I do not think this is right to have these people SCARE us into thinking we are going to jail or anything else similar.  First of all, the debt is under $500 and that has to go through small claims court not Federal Court.  This guy was a real jerk and I'm reporting it right now to the Attorney General.  
ANY OTHER ADVICE ON WHAT I SHOULD DO?  CAN THEY REALLY HAVE ME PICKED UP AT MY JOB?????

This number called me about a case they had. It was in regards to a bad check i wrote out a few month prior. They allowed me to resolve this with them for a reasonable amount.

RE : Confused ... What did you do to acquire the debt? is it a CC or something or was it a check similar to myself, because I would imagine if its a check, then its against the law to write a bad check so possibly they could. That's why I paid my its not worth the hassle...I knew I did it also so it needed to be paid regardless.

My question would be if these people are legitimate why do they called from bogus phone #s? That right there tells me they are not legit!!!

Calls from this number stating they need information regarding returned items from my bank.  I have had nothing returned!!!  I will not call them back as they give a different name everytime they call from this number.

Called about returned check from June.Prior to filling with county, I payed them got resolved.

I got the same call about some returned ACH fees and I have nothing of the sort. I paid the loans off and stopped payment on the ach. They say they are McGuire and Hummel but I can't find any info on them and the numbers they are calling from are not in the BBB or anything. I told them I was getting an attorney and I wanted them to send me the filing and they refused and got irrate with me. My next step is calling the Attorney General and finding out what I can do about this.

Stated had returned documents from my husband's bank that "warrants his immediate attention." We contacted our bank instead and no documentation has been forwarded to any outside agency for any reason.

no it is a scam, as soon as you tell them your lawyer will contact them, they hang up. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they hung up also. Just advise them you will be reporting them and do it.

My son got a call today from these people stating that he owed money in the amount of $600. for a loan he took out originally for $250. that they claim he never paid back.  They also told him they were going to press chages against him and that if he didn't pay he was going to Federal prison.  He got scared and said he would pay.  I told him to bargain with them and see if they would take less money.  They settled on $464.00.  $300 they were to take from his debit card, ( which he stupidly gave them his number cause they scared him to death) then the other $ 164. on Dec. 31.  I started to think about this and when I read the letter they sent him about the creditors they were listing on the letter I told my son to question them about this, they claimed they didn't know what he was requesting.  Now reading these statements from others, I have advised my son to close his bank account so that they cannot touch any monies deposited in his account. These people are nothing but COLLECTIONS AGENCY that scare people into paying.  I looked them up in Better Business Burea and they did not come up.  What does that tell you?

I got the same message yesterday stating that there were documents being forwarded to my bank that needed my immediate attention. Who the hell are these people. I have had problems in the past with money taken out of my account without my authorization also. There are so many scams out there and these people are getting away with it!!!!

I have also gotten threatening calls about what will happen if I dont pay what  I owe. The number always comes up all zeros or some weird numbers. I have not recieved any paperwork or any emails trying to contact me so I find that a little strange. Now they are telling me that that there are documents being sent to my bank that warrant my immediate attention. It was a recorded message.

The number was actually 888-597-4002. Lately I have been scammed and am just leery on the phone calls I've gotten supposedly from lawyers saying I am in trouble and owe money..... Anybody else have something similar happen to them???

I got a message left on my phone today, from someone who said some documents were returned from my bank.  They said I needed to phone the office of Macquire and Hummel 1-888-597-4002.  
I look them up on the NET and saw all your messages.  I have been scamed before and don't plan to have it happen again. I will be checking on these people in New York and report them to the consummer protection agency in that state.  I advise you to do the same.  If the debt is real than they can send a copy of loan documents.  Good Luck to you

Just got a call from same ##  said they were from McGuire and Hummel - looking for my brother - time sensitive and gave a case ##  -  I asked where they got my cell number - as nobody, and I mean nobody ever ever calls me on it except my brothers and husband -  really wierd
