Calling me at work nonstop!!!!!

someone from this number called a friends home  - specifically looking
I too - believe it may have been AT&T .... isn't this illegal for them to harrass my friends trying to reach me for a debt?????  There is no way to associate me with the number they called - EXCEPT by my home phone records!!

This number keeps calling, and when I answer I get a recording or no one on the other end..... really starting to get me pissed off.....

Keep calling me, I get a "please hold while we connect your call" yea, right. No clue who it is, but I don't have any collections with anyone so I don't know why they would be calling me. I try calling the number and I get "Thank you for calling, please hold for the next availible representative." Grrrrr.

By the way, they are calling my cell phone number, which I NEVER give out.

Finally got through to someone, and they were looking for someone else, a Deb Murphy, no clue who that is or how they got my number, but the calls have stopped finally!!

This number has been calling me EVERYDAY ON MY CELL FOR A WEEK NOW! Today I finally answer & I got the same recording "Please hold while your call is connected" Yeaahh OKAY! TOTAL BS

We have also been getting calls from this #.  Decided to answer this morning and the woman asked for my BF by his first name only.  I said, "He's not in right now, may I take a message?"... she said, "No" and hung up quickly.

My BF said not to answer it anymore if I do not KNOW the number.  It is his theory that they dial random numbers until someone answers and then they mark it as a "good" line and they use it to target you for something else.  Once b4 there was an 888 number that kept calling, so one day he researched and found out they were scam artists that kept changing their company name, but it was still listed with their old call letters when it came up on our caller ID.  They mostly liked to pretend to be mortgage lenders that could help refinance their home, or a debt restructuring company that could save hundreds, maybe thousands, a month for them.

The company would get a downpayment for "services to be rendered", by cash, money order, or checks made out to "cash".  The consumer would be told its a secret deal if they were asked about the PO Box #. The consumer would never hear from them again. While they were strung along by this person they spoke to, their bills were not paid at any time.  And MOST people were too ashamed/scared to report the incident.

I answered a call from this number, finally, this morning and after a moment of silence a woman asked for my BF by his 1st name only. I asked to take a message and she refused. My BF suspects its a scammer looking for a sucker. :(

He reminded me that I should never answer the phone unless I know the number... we have an answering machine for that... lol He thinks they consider it a "good" hit if someone answers. Therefore, he suspects they will call back and/or sell the number to someone else as a possible victim, because they can now show someone answers that number. Hmmmm he may be onto something.

had called me 3 times this week so i called them back after i saw that there was no information on them.  it is a collections agency IC system.  they use many numbers, and asked what number had called me.  they wouldn't tell me why they called me, or who they were looking for.  probably former owner of phone number, who is being chased by many collections agencies.  they did tell me the company name immediately and said that they 'helped companies maintain contact with their clients' (a euphemism for collections, i am sure).  told me to disregard call, that it was probably in error.

recieved call from this number asking for a family member that does not live with me. They were rude and hung up on me!!!

Just called the number back. Call was answered IC Systems.

juat recieved 2nd since yesterday some lady looking for a made up name???

i have been receiving calls from this number for months.   last nite, i finally stayed on --they don't usually say anything?   but the woman who spoke, asked for a niece of mine...someone who also has my maiden name.  apparently they connected my name with hers?   but i haven't seen her in 11 years.  and i told her this.  i also told her that if she didn't take my name off their list, i was taking action.  when i asked who it was, she said /I something--i never got it all, she spoke so softly and fast.  so this morning, i called them back---IC SYSTEMS....  apparently they want more info; credit card/ss numbers?   STAY AWAY FROM THEM.  call the attorney general if u have to.

Called my unlisted phone number trying to reach my niece who lives in another state.  Would not give any other info but, expects me to give my niece their return phone number.  Sounded too false to me.  The person would not even give the name of their company.  The person did say her name was Gwen.  The return number she gave me is 800-279-1783

2nd post;   when i went back home for the holidays, i mentioned these calls to my nephews.   i asked why they would be asking for one's ex wife?  my other nephew mentioned something about her name being on an ATT BILL??  i came back on here to reread some of the comments, and i noticed how someone also mentioned ATT?   SO, IS THIS HOW THOSE SCUM GET MY UNLISTED PHONE NUMBER?  they kept saying tonite, how they couldn't locate anyone to speak to me-duh?  then kept asking if i was on the phone still?  idiots.  and we just sat down to dinner!!  i will try using a whistle and blow it into the receiver next time.  i also to her to remove my name from their list. yeah right..she sounded like she knew me since birth.    I HAVE CALLED THE ATTY GENERAL.

Over the past 2-3 days I have received 10 calls from this number which I have not answered.  Today I decided to answer and they were looking for the husband of a former friend.  How they got this number I have no idea.  They asked for information and when I wouldn't tell them they said it was an emergency.  Right.  Seems that they will try anything.

I have been receiving several calls from this number on my cell.  I have not answered any of them and yet they still do not get the hint.
