Received a phone call at 4:51pm PST on April 21, 2008.  Caller didn't leave a message.

Caller called me as well. Called back and it is AIG Direct (auto insurance)

This is not the 1st time Ive recived a call from this #. I thought the do not call list was to stop these calls !!!!!!!

if its a legitimate business that YOU DO NOT HAVE AN EXISTING business relationship with - YES the do not call list is supposed to prevent these calls.

BUT IF YOU DON'T BOTHER TO REPORT THEM TO THE DNC WEBSITE - they do not know you are getting these calls and cannot fix it.

IF you DO have business relationship with the business - they can call you UNTIL YOU TELL THEM to put you on their DO Not Call list.  They are required to do so at your request.  

So either way - YOU HAVE TO DO SOMETHINGS YOURSELF - besides hit the complaint boards..  

IF ITS A SCAM - CROOKS DON'T CARE!   they don't follow the law in the first place and the DNC list has no impact at all.   They are out to commit far worse crimes then violating the DNC laws.

21st Century auto insurance.

888-244-2040 Called, left no message. It is marketers on behalf of AIG, whom I'm a customer of since they acquired 21st Century. I just got through dumping my Sprint service due to a similar situation (they wouldn't stop calling even after being on DNC list and asking them not to call). I'll let you all know how this scenario plays out also.

Just got a call...They left a message because I tried to get an Auto quote yesterday....Lets see if they keep calling...fingers crossed they dont.

Just got a call from this number 888-244-2040 no msg. left, searched online for who this number could belong to, and I found a spreadsheet with a list of names, phone numbers and license numbers, this list claims to be from Texas Dept. of Insurance, wondering if this is legal and letting out people's personal information.

21st century...car insurance  dont use this company. they are liers and thefts. im glad i did switch companies becuase i saved money..this company is a joke and should be out of business

I got two calls from this phone number today... didn't hear my phone ringing in time... missed their calls... they did not leave any messages.  i had already told them i signed up with another company so i wish they'd just stop calling.

call today from 21st century saying they did not get my payment and to call them.
I mailed it 8 days ago,  Ironically she verified my email address,  then  low and behold about
an hour later got an email asking me to do my payments on line form now on.  This stinks...

These people !!!!!!!.............    I will me cancelling next month.

They called to follow up with the online quote i applied for

It is 21st Century Insurance.
Their message stated that they had not received payment yet.
It was a recording, not an actual person.
They are also affiliated with AIG Direct and now Farmer's Insurance.

Asked questions about a car that I have for sale.Not really sure what they're up to.I think they're trying to determine values for a certain model of car for one of their clients.Person that called pretended to be interested in my car for himself.

I got a call from them about a insurance quote for my car. Which is/was fine and good. But today I have been slammed by calls from other numbers. And it is because of them. I so not going to get my insurance via them. Sold my info already, name cell number. What would they do with other more imporant info?

Do not bother.  Crazy phone call - don't know what their game is but this was the most bizarre call we have ever received.  Person ended up saying she was in labor & stay on the phone.  When I put her on hold & checked the #, i went back & said the # is AIG.  She said my midwife is here & got off the line.

I also got "taken" from misrepresentation of 888-244-2040.

Watch out. This number appeared on my credit card (my card was in my pocket) as an unauthorized, fraudulent recurring charge; I missed the first charge for $150. and caught the second for $300. FRAUD. Barclay's is dealing with them but it required canceling my card. Keep watch.

After looking at the posts I did not answer the call. They left no message. Another scum caller to afraid to leave a message.
