- Jeremy| 42 repliesKen Hughes again, new number. Called back to say your calling a private business line and he asked for my name, I did not give it. He said are you "so and so" or "so and so" or "so and so"? I said nope! Your records aren't very up to date as those names are three very different nationalities (which he did a horrible job pronouncing two of them) and we have had this private business line number (for internal use pretty much only) for well over 10 years. He swore and hung up at me (his representative, not actually Ken Hughes the scammer). I called back and of course a different agent handle the call and she tried the same thing, I said I am going to cut you off, your other agent already asked me the names and I said no and I want our phone number removed, she said okay, will take a couple days and hung up.

- Matt| 1 replyI got a message like everyone else from Ken. I called and a rude woman whom I could barely hear told me it is a Chicago collection agency. She asked for someone else, I told her it's not me, and we'll see what happens. People should know that in many states collection agencies are not allowed to leave their purpose for calling on a message - this is to protect your privacy. I'm not defending this guy, but don't assume the worst because someone leaves a cryptic message like that. It might be legit.

- Rhonda| 2 repliesGot a message on my answer machine to call Ken Hughs on an urgent matter. Who is this clown, and why do I keep getting calls. I think it might be some kind of scam. If anybody knows anything abough this bonehead, please let me know!
- Drew| 1 replyTHis clown left a message on my work phone. I'm not calling him back, and he can't be a collection agency, because I don't have any credit cards or dept. He's got to be a scammer.
- David RocinanteWe have had calls at 630 Am from this Ken Hughes clown. Thhey are scammers who pretned you have an old debt. MR BUSH pushed legislation to allow this. Call him back and waste their time. See which of us can stay on their line long enough. Maybe this will send them the message to stop this harrassment. If there is anybody who wants to due a class action lawsuit against this Chicago "Debt" Collection agency, sign me up

I don't know "Ken Hughes," nor do I call back people who won't tell me the nature of their call, no matter how important they claim it is. - Delia WootenI get this guy every now and then -- 'Ted Hughes'. I wonder if it's student loan stuff?
- Anonymous OneFirst thing, if they call, ask for there mailing address. Once you have obtained it, find out if the call is for you, if so do not tell them anything, but send them a letter stating that ALL future contacts be made through the US Mail. BY US Law, once this letter is received, they can no longer call you and must mail you, any future calls can be dealt with through legal means. I would also send the letter so that you get a copy of their representatives signature.
I might also suggest getting a tele zapper, it may and may not do a thing unless this was an automated call which it sounds as if it is.- Caller: Toll Free Call
- READY TO SUE OLD KEN & HIS GANGWe get REPEATED phone calls from Ken... tried calling back and only twice did I get ahold of someone both times they wanted information from me that a legit co would have already had if I owed them money. He is SO HATEFUL on the phone and the people you do reach cuss and swear and get hateful and threatening.. I screen all my calls now ... I guess the best we can do is continue to let him call... he won't achieve his goal with me! The worst part is having to keep the volume of the machine all the way down when we have company... but oh well...what is a person to do? I am considering changing my phone number but it is such a pain...If anyone has started a class action let us know!!!

- WhoCaresI talked to a Mr. Gardner from Merchants Credit Guide. He knew the last four digits to my social and was calling about some credit cards that I had 10 years ago (which was supposed to have been taken care of in my divorce). He asked me if I intend on paying them. I told him if I had intended on paying them, I would have done it a long time ago and that if I hadn't paid them in 10 years I would say it's safe to say that I am not going to pay for them. He told me to have a good day and hung up.
