This agency called for my sister-in-law and then a couple days later for my mother-in-law.  I immediately gave them their number (they live together) and asked for my number to be removed.  They have never lived with us and I assume they are not answering their phone so the company has resorted to calling everyone within the state with the same last name.  Next call from their company and I am reporting them to the BBB for harrassment.

Yeah, these people called and left a recorded message that basically said "this is an attempt to collect a debt".  Since they didn't even state who they were calling for (we should have NOTHING in collections right now), I am ignoring them. (I suspect they're calling for a friend who lives with us, in which case, lotsa luck collecting from her because she has no income. It's probably her student loan debt, which she can't get deferred any more and still hasn't found work, so she has nothing to pay it back with.)

Called for a reference for my brother. Told do not call. Called me twice. Argued with a guy to take me off the reference list was told my brother had to take me of the list when he called in. I deal in collections that is not true. If you ask to be removed they cannot call you. He was rude. Ask if he knew Fair Debt Collection Laws. Said he would remove off list. The next day received a call talked to a woman who said my number had been removed it just take 24 hours to be deleted so I told her I would not call the BBB. The next day receive another call on my cell phone. Just checked my home phone and they are on my caller ID. I will contact the BBB now. Nasty people.

Got a call from this phone number today on my company cell phone.  When I answered with a greeting that identified my company they hung up without saying a word - very unprofessional!

The man who called me from this number was extremely rude, and mumbled so that I could not understand a word he was saying. This was completely uncalled for.

Sallie Mae made a huge mistake and put my information on another man's account. This man's account must have gone to collection, but instead they are calling me. I am so angry with Sallie Mae.

Please stop calling. And if you do call, wait long enough for the answering machine to record the full message. I do not have any debt. You have the wrong information. The person you are looking for gave up this number about 4 years ago. If you insist on wasting your time, at least do it later in the day so you don't keep waking me up. I will report you to the state for harassment.

How do these people get phone numbers from "former" relatives?  They are calling my former mother in law for a debt that I got YEARS after I divorced her son. I don't know where they are getting their information from but they need to stop.

They call me constantly.hnging up without speaking leaving tapes stating they are collecting a debt, etc. when they ask for me I say hold on and walk away or I tell them she moved.  They are trying to collrct a student loan obtained for my then 6 year old son for tutoring from sallie may. it was $5000 and I paid off alL but  $1400 when I requested a deferment First sallie may tried to convince me it was a personal loan and I was not eliglble for a deferment Then they told me to e-mail a manager charged me $20 for the deferment and when the three months were over told me the loan was in default and had been sent to collections. They are as devious as allied that is why they use them to collect.  I told allied to sue me After 4 or 5 years time you can no longer be taken to court for any credit debt although you can be called by collections forever. They also broke the terms of their own loan when they refused to grant  deferment. I just ignore them no anger no kindness no feelings at all when they call.

Niece in default for student loan.
Used me (and my phone#) unknowingly as a reference.
Now I get harassed with calls from Sallie Mae.
Even sent registered mail to Sallie Mae to cease and desist.
Stopped it for a few months now their calling again using this company, I refuse to answer.
    Ain't caller ID great?
When I see an unknown number I Google it.
If no ID number I don't pickup regardless.
