- Marie| 1 replyThey called and left a message saying I needed to call Stephanie at this # about my ex husband of 12 years ago (didn't give specific reason). Even used my former married name again of 12 years ago. Thanks all for reporting this as a scam, now I know for sure it's true and won't waste my time returning their call. A warning to future receivers of this call type. Wow, these call patterns go back for years looking at the various dates - they're desperate!
- BigA replies to MarieWell known criminal enterprise in Western New York, lost their contract to steal money for student loans because of all the lies they told people. Time for you to sue them and report them. Here is what you need
You need to send them a certified, return receipt "not me" letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested). Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it. Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter. You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to. Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment. If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it. Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front): http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

Everything else you need to know follows including where to report their criminal activities.

Pioneer has lost their contract to collect student loans due to their criminal activity: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/02/27/educ ... _n_6773286.html
Web page with contact information: https://pioneercreditrecovery.com/Contact.aspx
BBB page with 235 complaints and 6 negative reviews and a government action revoking their contract and a BS statement about the revocation of that contract but somehow still gets an A+??? (Probably because it is accredited and pays big bucks for that rating): http://www.bbb.org/upstate-new-york/business- ... arcade-ny-5664/
Pioneer is a Delaware corporation organized in December of 2001 unlike their web page that says 1980.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
