Looks like a scam

I just got the same text message.
I didn't visit any 'site', so it must be some kind of scam to get me to call them.
I wish I knew who it was.

I got the same message.   I wish I knew of some who has called this number also.  I received the message on June7,2011.  The phone number that they called from didn't even look like a real one!!!!!

I received the same text messsage today June 9) - has to be a scam.  Never viisted Walmart site.

I received same text message but i was a dummie and called the number  back . It was from  Edison Publishing .They tricked me into buying magazines with my credit card, i want cancel but i dont know how.

I received the same text this morning, however i did just order something from Walmart online and did the site 2 store p/up with text message alerts to notify when p/up is ready. I haven't called because i think these things are usually scams. I did email walmart to see if it's legit and we'll see what they say when they respond

I received a response from Walmart and they said it's not authorized by Walmart and they are going to look into these scammers.

I got texts telling me to call that number. Didn't and texted STOP 3 times, same number.

@larry: I got into a similar situation with some "magazine" scam. Wouldn't let me cancel, wouldn't stop calling even though the paperwork they sent said I could cancel anytime, and they basically drained my credit card. I had to talk to my credit company, freeze my account and get issued another card.

This is why I never answer phone numbers I don't know. If they don't leave a message, it's not important/probably a scam.

I received a text message today July 20th from this odd number asking me to call this # 888-269-0010 to receive 100 gift card from Walmart. Smells like a scam

Darn...thought I might check this number out just in case, before I call and claim my $100 which I very much need for Walmart shopping.  Glad to know ahead of time that it's not for real and I shouldn't get involved with Edison.  Thanks y'all!

Txt Stop 2 quit,HELP 4 help.  I type STOP back to them and then received a message saying Modern Txt alerts: you will no longer receive msgs. 4 Help email support@moderntxt,com or www.moderntxt.com Std msg chgs apply.

They offer you a wallmart gift card then go on to tell you you also won 3 free monthly magazines .... you choose them then they throw in a you are now going to recieve your gift card, your 3 free monthly magazines all for buying one weekly magazine for 3.90 each week .... can we get your credit card please........ Yeah right!  It's a scam!

I called the 18882690010 like an idiot thinking this was for a free $100 walmart gift card. when i said there would be no personal information shared by me he was very convincing even giving me his name. Stewart Simmonds. i doubt thats his real name. i told him to call me back in a half an hour so i could research before commiting. he never called back so i couldn't tell him no but thanks for all the good advice!

Is a scam. I called them and asked what we had to do to get the gift card and they said just give us your address. And then after giving them the info they say that it is part of a package that sends us with 6 magazines for the cost of $4.95 a week processing fee. SCAM

I called the number back.  They asked if I was calling regaurding the same gift card.  When I inquired about this company they too told me it was Edison Publishing.  They informed me that I apparently filled out a survey.  When I asked what surveys they were linked to the person got rather rude...so I signed off with them in the same manner.

I actually called and gave the info and surprisingly I got the walmart gift voucher in the mail and used it !

did you get the gift card tho? i didnt subscribe to any magazines but i got the gift card
