called 4 times within 1/2 hour didn't leave a message couldn't answer bc at work ... the number is for sallie mae

Called 3 times starting at 8:00 Saturday morning.  Every half hour.  The man, MARCUS, was very rude.  He asked me if he had to speak Spanish for me to understand what he was saying and then threatened me by saying he was going to pull up my credit report on Monday and report me and before I could say any more, he slammed the phone down and HUNG UP ON ME!!!! By the way I was born in the United States and do not speak Spanish at all.  Not even an accent.

calls every hour or so. only allows my phone to ring once or twice, not giving me a chance to answer. thanks to this web site i know it's Sallie Mae harassing me. I like to see them ruin my credit. You can’t ruin what was ruined years ago. and the way Americas economy is now-a-days, a person with low credit scores can still get a loan.

Called me 17 times yesterday.  I was at work and didn't have my cell phone.  I looked up my Sallie mae info, and am not past due. Wish I could file a complaint with someone.

I've received calls on my answering machine from this place for a year. Most of the time there is a recorded message on my machine asking me to call them back. Other times there is no message.
 There must be a "clerical error" because I have never dealt with them and have no loans with them. Obviously a mix-up.

Get several calls a day from them and another company claiming to be MCC, yet both show similar numbers. I do not know which company it is, but I called this number back and was confirmed that I do not have any accounts with them. When asked why they keep calling I get told we will remove you from our system but it could take several days because it is an automatic dialer. She could not answer why one comes up as MCC and yet the other ends up being Sallie Mae. They either hang up by the third ring, or ask me for a Mrs. Green. Never heard of the woman.

We have got several calls from these scumbags asking for our daughter's address and claiming we have a loan with them which we don't. They threatened me in an email saying give us the address or the calls will continue !!! We all need to get together and fight back !!!  Here is the BBB where to report them plus the scumbags address...

The companies real name is GRC, or General Revenue Corp. They are owned by Sallie Mae and do all of their collections for the company. GRC's Info is below, along with 3 easy steps on how to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau for Illegal Practices.

Or call Michael Schneider of GRC...He responded to the BBB letter submitted below saying that their employees are "thoroughly trained" and my statements of harassment were unfounded...

If Mr Schneider doesn't believe my claims, perhaps a few hundred calls will convince him of his "thoroughly trained" employees illegal practices.

I have mentioned several times to both to GRC (General Revenue) and Sallie Mae Representatives that it is both inconvenient and inappropriate when GRC (calling on behalf of Sallie Mae Collections) is calling me any earlier than 8am Pacific Standard time or on the weekends.

This morning (Sunday) as well as yesterday, I received several calls from phone number 877-672-9950 (GRC) without any voice message or contact information. All were received before 8am and another was received as early as 6:15am on Sunday morning! While at work I also received a phone message from a family member saying that GRC had contacted them. GRC not only disclosed the dollar amount that I owed, but that I was delinquent and they inferred she would be responsible if they were unable to get a hold of me. Obviously, this family member had no idea what the situation was and became frantically worried about me. She had no idea (nor had I at this point because no one had left a voice mail) that my account was only 10 days overdue and not one late fee had even been assessed yet! This family member is in no way related to these loans and was randomly called.

All of my information listed for Sallie Mae is both current and valid. I believe what GRC did by contacting someone about my debt and disclosing my financial information is bordering, if not blatantly illegal.

It is NEVER appropriate for any collections company to call my family member/neighbors/co-workers etc about my financial issues, nor do these have any influence in the situation. There would be no reason to contact them.

I have several Student loans through Sallie Mae and I have never made a payment more than 30 days past due.

I understand my rights and I have notified both Sallie Mae and GRC that I have reported them for poor business practices. If their employees do not know my rights they should have them review the following link:

We got a call on Thursday after New Years about 8:30 in the morning... it woke my wife and I.  The caller asked to speak to someone with a different first name, but the same common last name.  I told the caller no one lived here by that name and asked who was calling.  The caller identified himself as Jeff from Sallie Mae.  I went back to bed and within minutes a computerized call came in asking for the same person.  I *69 the number and found out it was Sallie Mae.

We received a similar computerized call Saturday morning, and again there seems to be no mechanism to correct this problem.

This number calls anywhere from 8-10 times a day.  It's Sallie Mae.  They are the rudest, ignorant people EVER!

I've received repeated voice mail messages from this number, identifying itself as Sallie Mae, and calling for someone with the same last name as me, but an unfamiliar first name.  These messages have been coming in now for about a month, about three to four times per week.  Today, I called Sallie Mae and after long waiting, talked to someone who asked for the phone number at which I was receiving the calls, which I gave him, and then for my social security number, which of course I did not give him.  The 'supervisor' then came on, who said there was no account identified with the phone number I had given, and they would 'check the auto dialer' since the calls were a mistake.  I was also asked if I had guaranteed or given a reference for anyone else's student loan, or if I had any student loans with anyone else, all of which were negatives.

I have started receiving calls from this number.  So far they haven't left a message.  So this evening, I decided to call them back.  It took me a good 15 minutes to get through their automated system to a live person.  Pretty much I had to act as if I was applying for a loan.  The person they are calling lives in Midland, I live in central Texas.  No relation.  Anyway, the young man stated he would take my number off the call list.  I made a note of it and if I receive any additional calls will file a complaint with the FTC.
