Got several calls from this number over the last week. The first call came in and he had a thick accent and said his name was Jackie. Gave me a (813) area code number to call him back if I decided to have him help me. He also said that my computer had a virus and that he was prompted to help me fix it. I immediately did a whole computer virus scan and I did have one (probably from his company) and got it fixed through my own computer software. I also looked up the number were he was calling from and it was Cross City Florist and Balloon Company in Florida. Very suspicious!

I got a call back in March, this year. I thought the guy was going to help me as he said he was from Microsoft.
What an idiot I was! I followed his directions to add some kind of a code on my computer in DOS. After that,
my computer no longer did anything...no Windows I.E., lots of errors.
Tonight another call. Thick Indian accent. Said my computer was sending errors to Microsoft. He claimed he
was from their company. He told me to open I.E. which I could not do. Then told me to shut down my computer,
which I did. But nothing he told me to do after that worked. He got disgusted and hung up.
The number was 800 Service (Caller ID) 888-274-5606. Very strange. The only way I am getting anywhere on
this computer is thru AOL. These guys have to be caught. I think they are using our computers to spy on
    America. Be careful!

Received a call today from this number telling me my computer was sending error messages to microsoft.  Hm, I said, that is very interesting because I have a Mac.  I told this person who could not speak good english, to stop calling and take this number off his list.  I had issues with this same scenario, not sure if it was the same number.  I told them that time to take me off their list as I do not use microsoft.  It works for a little while then they come back, probably with a different telephone number and start all over.  Really, do these people love getting yelled at…………..it needs to stop and now!!!!!!!!

Called me twice in two days.  I told him I was the President of Microsoft the first time and he still tried telling me my computer was messed up.  He called today and I started talking to him in the same sing soong think accent he used.  Hilarious!!!  He didn't know what to say and hung up.

    Obvious scam

Called my cell two days ago, didn't answer and no voicemail. I used to get calls from them on my landline, saying my "Windows computer" had a problem. I always answer, "I got rid of my computer!" and they hang up. Always a guy with a thick Indian accent with an Anglo first name LOL. First time I ever got one from a toll free number though.

C O M P U T E R  S C A M M E R S,  who will take complete control of your computer, and totally rip you off, if you are fooled by their pretense of trying to help remove viruses from your computer. Don't make the mistake of even speaking with these lowlifes, who reside in India!

Call on a Sunday morning, the Lord's Day? Can a person worship the Lord and not be bothered with a call where the message left is not understandable? Another thing, my phone is on the national do not call list! So why are they calling my cell phone? Another thing that is upsetting. There is a recorded message saying the number has been disconnected. They should not be calling when a person cannot call the number back.

Not everyone worships the same god, and many Indians in particular have their own pantheon of Hindu gods. As for the Do Not Call list, please understand what it can and cannot do.

What it can do, (and what it DOES, very well) is stop legitimate telemarketers who are based in the US from calling you to try to sell you stuff.

What it CANNOT do is stop criminal scammers who work in call centers in India or Pakistan or take-your-pick of some third-world country where US laws are a ineffective.

Also, you called them back, which is a really bad idea. In your case your call didn't go through because the number that the scammer faked on your caller ID was from a dead line. You're lucky. If you had reached a working number and gotten through to the scammer, they would then know your number is valid and they would use it for future scams or sell it to their crony friend scammers.

I usually tell them (after I listen to their scam a few minutes)  that I will pray to the great Hindu God Ganesha,  that he will grant them the wisdom to see the error of their ways.  They get very upset when I do this and start talking (and cussing me out) in Hindi.  Unnerves them that someone in the US actually knows at least a  little about the Hindu pantheon.

I love when idiots from other countries call me with scams. He asked me to log in because my computer was sending them error messages. So I lead him on for 10 minutes, he kept saying he would fix it over the phone.

Well, it ended with me asking him why am I looking at porno of Muhamud having sex with a goat and how can he fix that?

    He hung up
