Called asking me to verify my job address so that I can be served with papers. Then they called my supervisor extensions asking can they verify my employment.  But as they should know is that no job can verify over the phone any longer.  So they decided to ask for the fax number and faxed over a form requesting verification of my Employee, position, department, status, Hourly/salary and currect address and phone number.
Then had nerves to put for security purposes please have employee sign before the release of any information.

scam!!!! They always saying they are going to serve you papers but never do. They tell you to call an 800 number to get details about your case. They are always going to say whatever it is they need to say to get you to call and try to get your account number credit card and anything else they want. Tell them to stop calling your work and only your phone verify your debt owed in writing and that you do not deal with third party debt collectors!!! And say that you are recording the phone call and if they call again you will have a lawsuit on them!!!!

I called the number back and they are called PR and Associates.
I am heavily in debt, so it's probably a collection agency or law firm.

I did not answer the phone but called the number back.  It gets transferred to their "Pre-litigation Department".  For me, they are trying to collect on a PDL from a company called Money and More.  I've requested debt validation because I do not have any record of obtaining a loan from Money and More.  I did apply for PDL's during that timeframe and know for a fact that my information was bought or stolen as attempted scam collections have happened.  I also did keep all signed contracts and/or notices of online payday loans from that time and do not have anything from Money and More.  I will reiterate to all those that may read this, that these people are debt collectors which means you do have rights per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act among which is validation of the debt.  They may also go by the name Direct Mediators, which according to "David" (who answered the phone) is their payment processing department.

Mrs. Smith from PR & Associates called me and told me that the local sheriff department was going to serve me paperwork at my place of employment on Friday between the hours of 12:00 and 4:00... Ask asked her to confirm my place of employment and she stated she couldn't tell me that because she was afraid that I wouldn't come to work...  First of all... They don't warn you that you are going to get served... Any my place of employment isn't national security.... It's a scam.... They want $830 for a payday loan that I never had... And with a bank account I have never had an account with....

I am a tourist who happened to extend my stay since my traveling companion got sick and had a medical procedure that may take sometime to recover from. I opted to stay with her, therefore I needed a phone to get in touch with me anytime while she is in the hospital. There had been a lot of calls from this number, (888-295-3814) since 3 weeks ago threatening a lawsuit if I do not provide the papers related to some case, presumable a court case. I thought this was either a prank call or a scam. Reading from this webpage, now I am prone to believe this is another SCAM.

I just got a call at work today saying the same thing.  They wanted to "give me a chance to settle this before I get served with a summons."  I know one thing, if someone is going to serve you with papers, you do NOT get a courtesy call warning you about it.  This all started after, oddly, I switched to verizon and got an iPhone.  I simply replied to their email to provide me with documentation supporting their claim and I would work with them.  I will NOT blindly give them money.

Thanks for this message.  I was in the same situation a few years ago, but did not keep everything, as a matter of a fact, I didn't even get deposits.  I kept getting denied.  I think you are accurate about the selling of information.  This is regarding a supposed Money and More PDL as well.  My whole thing is you don't get warnings before papers are served.  They just show up.

I got a call at work from a David James and he is telling me that he is collecting on a debt from Bank of America.  The total of the debt is $1100 and he was going to settle with me for the amount of $675.  I let him know that Bank of America has a recovery department and they don't sell there debts to outside companies.  I was than placed on a 4 min hold and told by this David James that I have to pay this settlement.  He kept putting me on hold telling me that he has calls coming in and has to place me on hold.  He gives a direct line of 716-210-6166.  This is just a way of getting your information.  I also called Bank of America Fraud department and informed them of what is going on and she informed me not to give them any information because that is their way of checking to see which accounts are open and which accounts are closed.

This is definitely a scam.  They have been calling us for over 2 years saying they have papers to serve us.  They call at home, at work, our cell phones.  They leave threatening messages saying Good Luck.  You have been notified.  The story keeps changing.  Check fraud, credit card fraud, who knows.  We have none of that.  They have scared our children when they call.  They call and say they had the wrong address but now they have the correct address and  will be here tomorrow to serve us.  They never show up.  Then if we do decide to take the call we tell them to come on over.  The numbers are never the same and come from all over the U.S. and out of the country.  And I don't know that there is anything we can do about it.  Just don't give them any more info and don't verify anything they say.

Those [***] have harrassed me and stated that I owe money to Money and More Payday Loans although it has been paid off for years. I still have the recipte showing proof that I no longer have debt with them. When David or Wayne whom are the same person call you tell them you're going to turn them in to the Federal Trade Commission.

Yeah oddly enough I got the same courtesy call, then I told them to serve me.  I asked who she worked for and was told a agency that serves papers??? I asked for the name of the company.  To my suprise weserveyou.com isn't a true company???????? SHOCKER!  She then said that if I wanted to settle this she could give me the number or she could transfer me to them.  I asked if she didn't work for them then how can she transfer me, another shocker when she said that she had a fancy phone.  WHAT A CRACK OF s--t.  These people think they are dealing with idiots.  Oddly enough this started when I bought a house and suddenly old debts, yes true as some of them may be, resurfaced from my college days.  Guess what, its been 20+ years since I was in college.  I advised them the last time that they called" according to the fair credit act" once you tell them that and to stop calling you, they have to.  Its a federal offense if you remind them of the fair credit act and to stop harrassing you.

You guys are unreal you have the nerve to take out Pay Day Loans, Credit Cards, Home Loans, Private Loans, and so on and complain about being harassed you people are unreal. no wonder our country is in sooooo much Debt its people like you that cause it.. PAY YOUR BILLS!!!. You take a loan out pay it back then non of you would get annoying calls. I think its funny how you all feel entitled to not get calls or letters when in fact you know you owe money and because of the "Fair Debt Collections Act" you all think its a escape from your responsibility. You think your annoyed how do you think Creditors feel when people decide to stop making payments. I mean really think about it you know what you took out, you know you stopped paying on it and now you want to be bitter because collection agencies are trying to collect on money YOU PRETTY MUCH STOLE... man you guys are unreal

    In reply to "idiots"

I think you have an interest on the callers part. Nobody but nobody would be on this site, on this particular phone number, to give advice. It is blatantly obvious you are desperate to have people believe the call is real, WHICH IT IS NOT!

You are a shill trying to prop up a scam. I hope people read this and tell you to take a hike.

TO ANYONE ELSE READING - you can ignore these people, they may have your information and all that jazz but the only thing they can do is call. Beyond that, they are powerless, the "debt" is fake, and they have no authority over you.

Idiots - I agree with you.  Just because a debt is very old (10-15 years), it is still a debt that needs paid and should not be excused.  HOWEVER, I believe calls from these people/numbers is a scam.

Your job can not legally give out that info and if they do sue them. Only thing they can verify is that you are employed there or not.
