They would give me the name of the company or the nature of the call.
They threaten to take you to court and arrest you. They are very rude as to what your intentions are to whatever they. Offering to give a settlement

Called asking me about another person I know. Would not give me the name of the company or the purpose of the call.

Someone named Jared Ferguson called me saying he was an attorney and that I had to call them by the end of the business day or charges would be placed against me.

Did you ever call them back?  I just got the same message.

What's up with these people? They left a message that I should call them back or an attorney representative about some one else that doesn't even live here.

What types of debt collection practices are prohibited?
Harassment. Debt collectors may not harass, oppress, or abuse you or any third parties they contact. For example, debt collectors may not:

use threats of violence or harm;
publish a list of consumers who refuse to pay their debts (except to a credit bureau);
use obscene or profane language; or repeatedly use the telephone to annoy someone.

False statements. Debt collectors may not use any false or misleading statements when collecting a debt. For example, debt collectors may not:

falsely imply that they are attorneys or government representatives;
falsely imply that you have committed a crime;
falsely represent that they operate or work for a credit bureau;
misrepresent the amount of your debt;
indicate that papers being sent to you are legal forms when they are not; or indicate that papers being sent to you are not legal forms when they are.

I have recorded this company's message and have this "Calling from the office of Jared Ferguson call me or possibly have your attourney call me""an ivestigation opened against you" lines as well. According to the FTC all they have to do is imply that they are attorney's. We can sue for $1000.00 individually or $500,000 collectively.

I have been getting calls from a restricted number each time. The lady who is calling me keeps referring to herself as "Ms. Jones". She kept telling me to call her back and wouldn't leave a number to return the call! I guess they aren't the smartest company. ;o)

Finally left the number so I could Google it. Just some debt collectors.

i received a urgent call from 1-888-300-0449 asking for a person who is not at this phone number and to pass this message on to the person they asked for.  they said to call miss Mcmass(the last name was garbled) at ext 86782.  and ref a case number. they did not leave a company name,   I Called  the number given and there was not a phone cue. the person who answered said UCB. i asked for the extension and miss smith answered. i told them the person they left the message for is not at this number.  she asked me 4 times if i knew the person they called about. i said there is no one by that name at this number. i told them to get my number out of their computer.
they hung up on me.  i googled the number and found this information.

this company also refused to give us their name, address, they said they were sending documents to my employer to garnish my wages.  they also called my employer and told them they would be sending documents to garnish my wages

These people are a nusiance. They have repeated called my number for someone else leaving messages on my answering machine. I finally was home to answer the call. She gave me this number 888-300-0449 and an extension. I asked for the name of the company. She replied "UCB" I asked her what that stood for. Once I had all of her information. I told her she had the wrong number and not to call my number again. She claimed that my number was in her files. I told her that was possible that she got my number from the internet based on the similarity in the addresses. But NEVER to call mt number again. She was very rude and persistent that the number was in her files. I told her again never to call my number then she hung up.

I was told by Jarod Ferguson, who is passing himself off as an attorney, that I had to call him before the end of the business day and that he was going to do me a favor by staying until 9 pm so that he wouldnt miss my call.
These people are either incredibly stupid or think taking the risk of passing themselves off as attorneys is somehow going to make me shiver in my boots.  
I must be missing something.  None the less, I am choosing not to fight this battle of ridiculous phone messages.
I wonder what kind of school one ha to attend to learn to become dishonest, rude, argumentative, illegal, misrepresented, weak and have deplorable phone manners.???

I received the same message to call a Miss Mc(garble)could have been Math,Mass.  She didn't leave what is was about and made it sound urgent.  She did leave her ext 86782 and that I should call her back referencing a case number.  When I did call a rude male was on the other line and would not answer my question other then the company name was UCB.  He kept citing because of privacy laws (B.S.) I have never, ever received anything from their company in writing.  He kept trying to get my information without telling me what type of company this was and threatening to use caller ID to call me back.  FINE! I think I'll just wait for something in writing if they are legit.

I received a voice message on my unlisted cell phone from what sounded like the name Miss McMath(Mass) the 888-300-0449 with ext 86782.  She made the situation sound urgent and that I should call her referencing a case number.  I called the number and a male answered the phone.  I asked for the company name and what they did.  He would not tell me what the company did but kept trying to get an ext from me.  He kept telling me that he couldn't tell me anything because of privacy laws (B.S.).  It sounded real fishy to my.  He then threatened to use caller ID on me to obtain the telephone number that I am currently calling from because it wasn't the one the message was left on.  He continued to press for any information from me and when I said that I didn't have it written down.  I think I will wait for something in writing if they are a legit company.  After reading some of these other entries, I get the feeling they are a unprofessional company.

An woman calling herself "Agent Washington" said she was "commanding me to call her with the power left to her". I was thinking "left to her by whom :-) power vested might have sounded a bit more articulate. For starters she got my name totally wrong right off the bat. They come across like they're a government entity (i.e CIA, FBI....etc) when they're really just a roomful of uneducated idiots that think a threatening tone will get them somewhere. sue me.

I said she had the wrong neighbor. She explained that Lauretta XXXXX was my neighbor and that she put my name and phone number as a CONTACT NUMBER. I said I didn't know Lauretta. She replied "You don't know your next door neighbor?" I said "no, I just moved in here." The woman said she couldn't get hold of Lauretta XXXX and could I please just give her a message to call her. I asked if this was a debt collection or something. Miss Kelly assured me IT WAS NOT. She said she had documents on her desk that she needed to go over with her. I Googled the number and found this site. I'm ticked that I was lied to, and that she attempted to use me to embarass my neighbor! I was given the name Ms Kelly and the phone number 888-300-0449. She did not offer the company name. I asked what is the company/business/organization name- she stuttered, but eventually said: UCB. How do I stop my neighbor's creditor from bothering me at home?

I'm so fed up with all these calls for my daughter even though I've told  them she has moved and I will even give them her new address.  They won't take the address and still call me.  One of them made my younger daughter cry because they won't stop saying I know she's there. When they ask me to give her I message I say No and hang up.  Half the time I can't even understand them.

they call and call and won't listen they supposedly have an ETHICS department?? They are calling my family at work. they threaten people etc. How do you get them to stop. They are violating all of the rules in the Fair Debt act
