This is the fraud department from Cabela's Visa.  The number is legit.  Do you have a Cabela's Visa card?

It's Cabela's Visa Fraud Dept and a very welcome phone call !!!

I received a letter from Cabela's fraud detection department indicating that activity on my Visa card was inconsistent with my usual spending pattern. The phone number 888-305-6540 is legitimate.  Their representative resolved the problem in a very professional manner.  What a classy operation.  Thank you Cabela's!

It is Cabela's Visa Fraud department. They call to validate your spending activity. No big deal, they do ask for your last name, last 4 digits of S.S. # to access your account. Then they tell you what your last charges were & you verify them. Pretty simple & not suspicous at all & I am skeptical about everything.

I just got a call from an 'unknown caller' also, and although the guy gave the incorrect number to call them back, he did say he was from the Cabela's Visa Fraud department and so I looked up on Google for Cabela's fraud dept. number and got the correct number and read the reports here so felt at ease about calling them back.  Indeed it was the Visa Fraud department that had called and asked my husband about a purchase he'd made.  He'd bought gas for a vehicle with that card whereas he usually uses a different card for fuel purchases.  Very glad they are checking up on us.  Thanks to all here who have written also.  Big help when checking things out.

Legit number. I make most of my purchases using my Cabelas card. I tried to use it online for something in Great Britain which was a flag to them. I completely respect the fact that they question the purchase and appreciate the call. Chalk it up to great customer service!

Very welcomed call from Fraud Detection.  Card number was used yesterday for a $20 charge that I didn't make.  I confirmed an additional 4 charges made earlier in the past 30 days to determine the extent of misuse.  It was limited to just the one charge from yesterday.  The charge did not go through.  My account has been closed and a new one will be opened.  All my points info and charge history will be transferred to the new account.  Big time kudos to Cabela's Visa!

Legit call.  Advised of 2 fraudulent charges made just yesterday and today.  Old account cancelled.  New card issued.  Thanks to Cabela's for their diligence on this matter.

It's the Cabela's fraud dept.  I just had 2 international charges of over $1000 on my account that they were questioning.  Very glad they called to ask if I had made the purchases cause I didn't!!!

The original call came from 800-850-8402 stating they were with Cabela's Fraud Detection.  They left a voice mail asking me to call 888-305-6540. Two fraudulent charges from Washington state went through and a third was denied.  They quickly and professionally handled the situation.  Thanks to Cabela's!!!

Got the fraud call while out of state, the third time in about three years.  Seems like a lot but Cabelas was always helpful and handled the situation professionally.  Nothing out of pocket for me.

What if you don't have a Cabelas visa card and the fraud department calls and writes a letter? I have never done any order or anything at Cabelas and they are calling me.  What then?

I'm gonna call them on Monday and see what's going on. Maybe this is a case of id theft and someone opened a card in my name?
