- David| 1 replyRecorded message claiming I had won a mall sweepstakes that I entered. I never enter those. After the recording, I pressed 1 to speak with someone. He answered with "National". I asked to be removed from the list and he simply said, "Okay sir" as he hung up.
- Caller: National
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Allen| 1 replyJust got the same call. It is from National Verification Center. A lady named "Sarah" left a message saying I won a Ford SUV due to filling out a form in a mall or shopping center months ago. I don't do that stuff since this are the types of phone calls I get as a result. Googled this call center and got lots of info on what a scam this is.

- randyscam unwanted solicitation inviting me into their web of deceit
- dave in wisconsin replies to AllenSame message -- same voice as in many calls over the past few months, but this is a new recording. Sarah at the National Verification Center. They must know that many of us have the ability to filter specific numbers, so they change their number or caller id frequently. I'm playing whack-a-mole every time a new one pops up. I appreciate everyone who posts here to report details about the scammers.
- MarshaI got a call today ,a recording saying I had entered a sweepstakes at a mall too and my name had been drawn as a potetial winner.I have never entered contests at malls. It also said I could win a ford SUV and it also said to press 1 to talk to someone or press 2 for DNC. I assume the Do Not Call List. I pressed 2 and hung up.
- JoI got this call last night. It made me laugh because I do not ever fill out the "you could win a car" forms. I couldn't afford the taxes on it :) I am turning the number in because I am already on the DNC list and they should not even be calling me. Sorry Sarah!
- Call type: Telemarketer
- KatGot that too... annoying and I am on the DNC list....what is going on?
- LGJust got this call. I too never, ever fill out those forms. I will be filing a complaint with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) like I do with all calls that I get that do not comply with the Do Not Call lists that I am on for both National and State-wide calls. Sick of this.

- Elizabeth Gerou| 1 replyGot a message from "Kevin" saying my name was pulled after I registered for winning an SUV, which I never ever do because they are all scams anyway.
- Caller: NO IDEA... Not identifiable
- LinaPre-recorded call @ 3:00 pm April 5. Male voice, identified himself as Kevin, said I had entered a contest and my name was drawn last night. Claimed I was the winner of a new Ford Explorer. Given a choice to dial 1 for more info or dial 2 to get on "DNC list." I chose 1 out of curiosity. A live operator answered, "how can I help you?" I explained I had been told I won a Ford Explorer. He said something quickly, I was not able to understand. Was put on hold for several minutes. I assumed it was a scam, because my husband and I do not sign up for anything. Last night I got a similar call, but the prize was a Carnival Cruise.

- T replies to Elizabeth GerouKevin called me too. I said don't ever call me again. He said okay and hung up.
- mjmI can copy and paste almost everyone of the above messages. My name was also drawn for a vehicle that I entered a contest at a mall. Huh? I never ever sign up on those forms for the same reasons others don't. Also on a DNC list. I've already won (hahaha) a couple of cruises that I never signed up for. What's sad is that someone falls for these calls.

- MariqueMine was for a 2012 Ford Hybrid Truck. Kevin was on my recording--not Sarah. (I guess Sarah had the night off.) ...and he said, "Your name was picked last night, and guess what? You won."
- Caller: International Verification Center
- Mr JosephI too, "won" a Ford something... hung up while he was talking. I'm also on the National Do Not Call Registry. But, that didn't stop them.

- ccI got Sarah today. Left a message that we won an SUV from a drawing that we signed up for at the mall. We never go to the malls. Walmart, K-Mart and Target are our budget places to shop. We won't be calling her back now that I've read all of the feedback about this number.
- Caller: National Verification Center
- Me 2Don't these people EVER give up?? I got the same type of call about how lucky I was to be a POSSIBLE winner of a SUV after I had entered a contest in 2010. Quite a long contest. Another number to be put on call block!
- Caller: National Verification
- Telemarketed while telemarketing!Ironicly, I was at work (I make calls all day) When I step out on my break to find I have a voice mail. Its Lovely Sarah to tell me I won that SUV everyone heres been promised. And sadly...my boyfriend fills those things out (and is good at picking out the frauds/ has won previous stuff and trips before). He is known to fill out my name on those too. double the chances. Anyways, I call the number, and after two rings it picks up then hangs up. I think, thats weird, bad connection. so I call again. On the first ring, they pick up and hang up. Now i'm livid because I want to know who is calling my phone. I call again and it just rings. I hung up and call again, and it just rings. I finished my break and went back to making my calls. Did my research, and its a SCAM.

- Phone Ferret| 1 replyI just got "Allie" telling me about my new Escalade I won in a mall contest. Too bad it wasn't "Kevin", I could use the truck :) I don't enter these contests and they called my business line.
The call back number, 888-301-0702, connects to the "Verification Center" who is conducting this "contest" on behalf of Direct Buy. Other prizes include $50k, $50k home make over, 2012 Escalade ... .
The person on the line was helpful but they wanted more info than I was willing to give so I didn't pursue this any further.
Google "Direct Buy" and pick "Direct Buy complaints" - Holy crap! Basically its a $5000.00 membership to ultimately save you 10% on shoddy products such as kitchen cabinets. Direct Buy does a great job of abandoning their customers and ignoring their complaints. Complaintwire.org look comfortably familiar :)- Caller: Unknown
