Got a call from these same morons. They even gave a bogus case number. It was was a "process server" by the name of "Thomas Kaplan". They even called at work, even though they KNOW that is ILLEGAL. Of course they won't tell you the name of the debt collection agency.

Hey Sam - I got a call from an Unknown # saying the exact same crap.  The person that called me (while I was at work) name was "Dawson Kent"  Who the heck has a name like Dawson Kent anyway.  He asked if I would be home M-F between the hours of 9-4 so I could be served.  I said no I'm at work, something you should try (i had a feeling it was bs) He told me then that I need to call 888-350-5995 and give them my case #.  I called them up just trying to find out who they were, they told me a litigation agency.  I asked the name and would not give it.  I asked if they do collections or if they contact someone being sued they said they do all kinds of stuff.  Then he wanted my mothers name since I wouldn't give mine.  I told I wouldnt give it to him.  He started being very rude and making comments about my mom among other things and said If I was going to waste his time then he would waste mine.  I told him I got all the time in the world and he hung up.  What do you think about this is it a scam?  I kind of want to give him my name and case # just to see what they tell me, is that a bad idea?

I just got a call from the sheriff's department yesterday telling me to call this number.  They said they were trying to serve me papers and that I had a civil complaint being filed against me.  I called this number and gave them my case number.  They said they are a litigation company and that I was talking to the legal department.  My guy's name was Robert Lee.  Is this for real or not?  They said if I don't pay, they can go into my checking account, put liens on my car, and whatever they have to do.  What do I do?

They called me about my mom. They told me that they have been by my mom house twice to serve her, but nobody was home. If she don't call them , she will be charge with failure to appear at court. The guy call me was name Mark Lewis. He gave me a case number,so I look up the case number on my countys judical website. No such case number exsist. So I decided to call them back.  I ask him about my mom's case and so he start looking it up. I cut him off, and told him that my friend was the Court Clerk and she didn't see that case number on file.  I think I made him [***] himself. He started changing his tune.  I ask if he was a lawyer and he said no, he told me that they operate out of a law firm. They are debt collector's for Prestine Financial Group.  They pose as lawyers. Don't fail for this crap. I hate scum like this. If they call you back posing as lawyers tell them you are recording the conversation. Then ask them are the a law firm or a debt collector. Trust me they will say they're debt collectors. Please review the Federal Debt Practices Act.

These clowns called me today and left a third party message, which according to the FDCPA they are forbidden by law to do.  I do not ID myself on my voicemail and they still left a message.  Don't fall for this crap!  I'm a Paralegal at Law Firm and we are a collection firm and deal with debtors and atty's all day long.  We have strict guidelines to follow or we can get sued.  I tried to look up the bogus case number they left with county courthouse and of course there was no record!  If somebody wants to serve you, by all means let them serve you.  Your better off getting your day in court than to avoid the situation and expect it to go away, and have some crooks obtain a judgment against by default.  These guys are not process servers, process servers are not trying to give you the heads up, so you could then avoid them.  They are going to show up at your door or place of employment with either a pizza or flowers and serve you when you least expect it.  I hope this helps guys!  And by the way I didn't even call these idiots back and confirm that they had the right number.  And like the guy who posted above, review the FDCPA.  People try to out smart me all day at work and some of them are pretty clever because they've read the FDCPA.  Remember these collectors have 4 years from the charge-off date to file a civil lawsuit against you, other than that they will just mess up your credit.

PEOPLE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS CRAP!!!! THIS COMPANY IS AT SOME POINT TRYING PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR SMARTS NOT KNOWING THAT 1- THEY CAN NOT!!!!!  USE ANY LEGAL ACTION AGAINST YOU UNLESS THEY HAVE SIGNED DOCUMENTS WITH YOUR SIGNATURE ON IT. 2- THEY CANNOT SAY THAT THEY ARE SUING YOU IF IT IS NOT SO, ALSO ACT AS LAWYERS IN ANY WAY OR FORM, THIS CALLED LEGAL MAL PRACTICE AND THIS COMPANY CAN GET SCREWED FOR THIS. SO, LETS ALL GET TOGETHER AND SUE THEM FOR VIOLATION OF YOUR PRIVACY AND VIOLATION OF PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT. ALSO YOU CAN SUE THEM FOR THREATNING YOU AT ANY PLACE!!!!

CALL collection stopper and ask to speak to brian parker in regards to this situation, I just did, the more people together on this the better our lives can be without all these unproffessional animals that think we as people are a bunch of idiots that dont know our rights!!!!!

These people called my mother's house saying they were the county sheriffs office and had a case number and to call this number back before i got served with a civil court case. They also called a previous place of employment that i worked at over 3 years ago stating the same thing. i called back to see what it was about they gave me an account i never had and was harassed by this company's "asset manager" alex martin ext 204. I am 25 weeks pregnant and cant handle the stress and the guy continued to scream at me. My mother and i called back and the guy refused to answer any questions and would not speak with my mother regarding any of this matter and kept telling us we were not allowed to ask him questions. They refused to answer what type of company they were and also at one point he threatened to file a criminal law suit against me for disorderly conduct and to be connected to my bank's district office to obtain a payment. He kept hanging up on us as well. This company is a bogus company don't give them any information.

It is total b/s I had the same experience. Do not fall for their lies. It is a complete scam. The guy who called me today was named David Smith. The information they had on me was not correct. It was all outdated by about 5 years. All of my debts were included in a Chapter 13 that was just discharged May 10, 2010. Do not pay them a dime or give them any of your banking information. Also, report them to the BBB.

Yeah I got a Call a couple months Back from a guy at a process servers office, he said I was being sued by Pristine Financial group which I thought was crap because I read this page and I dont really do anything to merit being sued so I blew them off. But about a week and a half later I got a knock on the door and was Served with a notice to appear in court by a Deputy Sheriff, which is when I finally decided to call Pristine Financial and they said they were suing me for an old debt that was a few years old that totaled around $13,000. They ended up settling on the account for $4,138.67 AND they reported it as paid in full to the credit bureau, which I thought was pretty cool. So I guess, you have to decide whether to Believe Them or not, but in contrast to what people are saying here- I WAS served and luckily had the money to take care of it at the time, otherwise I would've had to pay back the full amount which would've been impossible. The choice is yours people!

Got a call from a process server a few months ago telling me to contact Pristine Financial Group. So... I googled them up; thought it was bs since I've read all the postings on this page n so I ignored it. Weeks later, a process server came to my mom's house n verified the subpoena for a civil complaint; I finally decided to call Pristine Financial n did a settlement w/ them... My reasons for posting this up is to share the other side of the story. It was legitimate debt and also I wanted to rebuild my credit; so I decided to settle it. Good luck people..!!

I have received the same phone calls. I have done a lot of research on all of this. THESE COMPANIES ARE SCAMS, do not give them any money or any bank information. If you get a call like this, you need to report them to local police, federal trade commission, FBI and put an alert on your SSN# and put an alert with your bank.  Also call and put an alert with all three credit reporting agencies. The Social Security Administration can give you all of those numbers. The later post on this site saying that they got served are most likely these people from these illegitimate companies, trying to scare you.

Called at work, they left a message.  A complete scam indeed.  First, if you call the number back when they are closed, there is no menu options, nothing about their hours of operation, no option to enter an extension, no info on a fax number, address, etc... Just a general voice mail box.

Try to run their name through a search engine... what do you get?? Nothing.  Go search for a legitimate collection agency and there will be pages and pages of info on them, mostly being consumer complaints.  I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't even based in the US.  No process server would take the time to see if you will be somewhere at a certain time to be served papers, that's not how they work.

As for the poster who said they were actually served with a summons, there is simply no way, at least not from this company.  I wouldn't be surprised if the poster is actually an employee of "Pristine Financial Group" using this forum as a gimmick to entice people to pay money to them.  Don't give them a red cent.
