Got the same call today, caller at first called from our local area code then gave me the number listed saying that I had one chance of resolving some kind of issue.

Its a collector claiming he is going to serve you. He might be by the name of John Charter! Its a SCAM!!! If you havent paid a collection account over 4 years they cant sue you or garnish your wages in the state of California. Look up your state Statue of LImitations. Ive told them numerous times to come on over and serve me and its all scare tactics. LOL!

By the way they claim to be Global Collections. Tell them to kick rocks and quit buying garbage debt. They are a joke.

They are carrying on with me too, called my job and demanding to speak with my supervisor (thankfully the receptionist recognizes this kind of call).  Dawn Wells from Global Firm, also 977-3067 (no area code on the ID).
I have told them I CANNOT take these calls at work - who can I complain to?

Global called my sister using scare tactic on a payday loan.  My sister never took out the loan or lived in the state that it was originated at.  She is a victim of ID theft.. I called them (my sister was on the phone also) and asked Global for their address and they told me they couldn't give it to me. When I asked them to send copies of any info on this loan they denied. In fact, they told me my sister would see all info in court.  My sister is 66 years old and I know for a fact that she never took out this loan.  But because it is in her name they continue to call her demanding money.  after many hours researching and calling I finally got some info that proves that my sister didn't take out the loan, but they won't listen...what do I do next?  This all took place in 2007..SofL in Washington is 6 years...

They call my mother and demand to talk to her.  They have some thing to serve her.  Does not matter what I said, they won't back down.  My mother does not a credit card or any type of loan.  leave her alone.  They told me, they keep calling until they talk to her.  ( my mother does not speak English).  HELLO.  What can I do to stop these calls.

The Name of the Collector is Global, The have called my Son & my Job! They told my Supervisor I was in big trouble and they had to serve me papers, and that he would be calling back in 45 minutes, the name of the man is Frank Thomas. I called the number given and it was Global, I asked them to stop harrassing my Family & Job. The Man told me they could not do that, that Frank Thomas was a locator that was hired by the company and they can not contact him. They told me I  was going to be served papers by the Locator and the only way to stop him was to pay them with a credot card right now. I asked them to send them me a statement of the the amount they said I owed since way back in 2007? They said they would only send a statement after I have paid them off. I told him again that i would need some letter from the collection agency to see if they are legit and they said they can't only after all payments have been paid. So I told them I will inform the Judge in court that they refused to produce any documents stating what I owe them and hung up.

Global called my job .told them it was against the law and they called back 3 more times then when I called them they said I was in breach of contract and fraud that I needed to pay then or I would get legal papers for court and would have to pay 800 to 900 in court fees when the bill amount was 465 . I told them I would report them to. The FTC if they call my job again and to send a letter with their address not a P.O. Box and I will go to the news also .

Global is a sleezeball scammer.  I just read an article that specifically mentioned global. I'm not sure whether it was an FTC bulletin or another source.  But It said they were a payday loan scam and do not pay these people anything.  They violate every law there is and cannot validate anything.  If you ask for validation,  they will claim that they have already sent you validation or that they don't have to. They will also say that you owe a payday loan when you do not and try to harass you into paying. They use threats of arrest,  court,  garnishment, and expensive court and attorney fees to scare you into paying over the phone. Demand their physical as well as mailing address so that you may communicate with them by mail. If they say no, they are scamming you.  They are required to provide complete validation of the original debt and their right to claim and collect as wells as their license to operate in your state.  Do not accept fax, email or anything but USPS mail. Faxes and Emails are unacceptable. It must be provided within 5 days of your request.  If they refuse to provide you with any of the requested information,  they are in violation of the FDCPA and any debt they claim is legally uncollectable.  I'd tell them to validate with copies of the alleged debt account information, a record of any payments made, a copy of any signed contract that may exist with the original owner and proof with date of the last and final activity and balance as last held by the original owner of the alleged debt. Then tell them they have 5 days and the clock is running.  If they refuse,  tell them to sue you if they think they can collect and Go to hades because if they don't validate,  you don't owe them a damn thing and they can't force you to pay.  Especially for a made up false debt.

I have received 11 calls just in the past two hours from Global so has my grandmother, mother, aunts and husband with some crazy lady screaming on our voice mails saying that I have until the end of the day to pay my debt or I'll be arrested!! I have to admit that I was freaking out at first thinking what have I not taking care of that would result me being served or arrested? They even told my grandmother that I was in a whole lot of trouble and that I better contact them. WTF but then I found this sight since i wanted to google this company to see what exactly it was and what did I find NOTHING except this sight. I am now in a much better state of mind and I am really hoping that they will call me back cause I am ready to play games now and see just how far they will go!!LOL so stay tuned cause I may have an update!!

Just got a call on my cell phone from a local number-I am at work so it went into VM.  They left a VM for my mom.  Saying they needed to verify her home address or place of employment to serve her papers.  And that she only had 1 chance to call them back-

SCOTT MILLER, called to serve legal papers... BS.. ALL the way BIG SCAM!!!!! Defenetely report to ftc.gov

These people are ridiculous!! First this silly b*tch by the name of Brenda Daniels called my mother, and then she called my brother telling them that she is a "detective" no less and that I have charges against me and that she needs to serve me papers so that I can take care of this matter because I only have one day to do so. Apparently this clever "detective" is too stupid to google my name, I have a facebook open to the public because I OWN A STORE. She could call that #, or even stop by.  She then proceeded to call me 3 times on a different # in the period of one hour and kept hanging up when I answered the phone.  When she called the 4th time, I asked her what in the hell she wants, and why does she keep hanging up. I told her that I had already done my own investigating and that I know this is all [***]. She is calling me by the name of my ex-husband, and I have been divorced for 10 years!!! Then the brilliant "detective" said I had charges against me and that she was going to serve me papers and I said BRING THEM!
She wanted to know where I was and I said "I thought you were a detective?" but I'll meet you anywhere!!! She rattled off an old address and I said ya, we can meet there. She said "we'll see how tough you are in person"
I told her "show up b*tch and you'll find out!" Then she called me 18 times in a row and kept hanging up when I answered. I am not making this up...18 TIMES!!!!!!!!!! I have the phone records to prove it. I kept saying we can do this all day, I own my own business, and she's talking to the boss. Her "scare" tactics are laughable. I said " I thought you were coming with papers, I'm ready", and she finally said " I want to make sure you're there." I said, " I'm here stupid BRING IT!!!!!!!!!" That's the last I heard so far, but I'll keep you posted.

Does anyone have an address for this scammer?  I am filing formal charges and need to send certified mail.

I have noticed that their magic number is 465.  On many of the posts on this board they claim people owe them that amount.  Anyway, Global is a nobody scammer.

Good luck Lynn. NObody has been able to get them to give an address. Which is further proof that they are thieves.

I found a Brenda Daniels in Porterville on Jennifer Way.  It lists 2 phone #'s for her. The other # they are calling from is originating from Huron, so I'm guessing it is.
