    On the Cell
Since so many telemarketers have been dialing my cell, I have resolved not to pick up on numbers I don't know.  In turn, most of the time, they just show up as a missed call.

This time, their prerecording started before my voicemail was ready.  The female voice was going on and on about some kind of plans.  Pressed 7 to delete, and moving on.

Received this call this morning.  Recording going on about how I had been selected for an award.  A trip for me and my spouse that we had won?  I dont have a spouse since she passed.  This is clearly a generic telemarketing setup.

I was at work when this number left me a message about how I won two complentary airfare tickets and a 7 night 8 day cruise.  If it's too good to be true...it probably isn't.  I won't give anyone the pleasure of getting sucked into this scam!

I just got a message (that was too long and cut off), too, re: free air tickets to one of 3 destinations (Baltimore, Port Canaveral or Miami) and cruise to St. Thomas and more. I think I heard something about Air West and some sweepstakes that my spouse or I entered. Funny...I don't have a spouse. The call came across my phone from 702.444.4939.
    • Caller: No idea. Supposed to be a sweepstakes win.

Same message as the cruise one before me, Lavano 3-Jun-2011. Words missing as well and the recording had a slur LOL! Telemarketer for sure as I NEVER give this number out to ANYONE, not work, not family, not girlfriend, no one. So it's obviously a scam.

Received a voicemail stating the same info as above. Could understand the beginning of the woman's message she spoke so quickly, but it was for a 7 night 8 day cruise, outside cabin, with airfare for 2 to either Miami, Baltimore or Port Canaveral. Something about my spouse or I filling out a survey or something. Sounds like a scam!

I got the call yesterday on my cell and was surprised since I never give out my cell phone number when I'm filing out anything like a drawing.  The woman on the phone said that I had won something from an entry that I completed.  Don't remember doing so, and I definitely know that I didn't use my cell phone number.  So I checked to see what number was used to call me and it was 702-444-4939.  When I called it from my office phone, I got a recording saying that the number is NOT in service.  So I decided to look up the 1-888 number online to see if it was associated with a scam and found this page.

Folks have too much time on their hands!

I called, you have to go to a meeting, listen to their pitch for a travel agency then pick up your tickets.  Anyone actually go to one of the meetings?

I received a voicemail, without a missed call, so i couldn't tell what number actually called me.  These morons called my work-issued cell phone, which i received about a month ago.  Appraently, last year I signed up and used my work cell phone number whic hwas total BS.  I dont even know what my work cell number is? I just use it for outgoing calls mostly.  It was the exact recording described above.  The lady sounded [***] happy, like she just learned how to read. Of course, her name was garbled.  They intentionally make it sound like it was a bad connection while she spoke her name.  I did pick out American West airline or something like that.  And she rambled on about a Free Carribean cruise including airfare from the airport nearest my location to either Miami, some other place, or Baltimore Maryland.  The caribean location included Saint Thomas and a few other places.  If anyone goes to the "seminar," please post what you find.  I'll bet its a scam.  I have been seeing an increase in this kind of BS.  My personal phone has been getting calls from Maine (207) area code everyday.  Supposedly there is a government site that you can report it to.

Same as others' stories. Voice mail on my mobile phone (which I rarely use & only my husband has the number- well, he & a load of telemarketers, many of which speak Spanish). I will not call back but I will report to the FTC. The calling number was 702-444-4939, which may (from my search) be a random number attached to pay phones or calling cards.

Just got the same call as described above, I'm tempted to call back and ask a lot of ridiculous questions about where I entered the drawings and other fun things like that.  Probably not worth it!

I received the exact same message. Funny thing is, it mentions a drawing I entered last year, I did go on a cruise last year but couldn't recall a drawing I entered. Next "dead ringer", I don't have a spouse either!!! The 702 ___ number above was what also showed up on my phone with Las Vegas popping up on my caller ID.

... Wish I really did win a Caribbean Cruise!!!!

The call-back message goes on to say that it is an anniversary celebration and you must be a married coupled with proof of a shared residence with over $60 annual household income and so on. I'm not married so I don't know why I would be getting this call except that its not real.
