- LanaLee| 2 repliesLeft a message about an "important business matter" they urgently needed my help with. Left phone number that they insisted I call back. Did not identify themselves, nor their business. Only identified as Out of Area on caller ID. Needless to say I will not be calling them back.
- Caller: Unknown
- Jimmy G replies to LanaLeeThey left me a message asking who handles workers comps claims. No mention of their company this time either
- JackThe caller showed up as, "unknown". She stated she was calling from the hospital and needed to identify my son's (she called him by his name) insurance information. She even had a treatment date from 2007 that she referenced and sited. I was suspicious and asked if I could have her number and call her back, she gave me this number 888-424-1743 ext. 4458, I asked for a local number and she gave me 817-451-4458 which is a agricultural feed company's fax number in Texas.
- Caller: Hospital
- Call type: Debt collector
- Mae replies to LanaLeeReceived a call on my cell phone from this number. Caller identified herself as Jonie Smith and referenced that this was not a business call. She then told me to call her back at 18884241743 x 4469. For many of the reasons already stated, I will not be returning this call.
- CGot a call on my cell phone today from this number, 888-424-1743 ext 4320. No info on who this is, but it sounds fishy from the e-mails below, and I won't be calling them back.
- University Health Care (UTAH) patientI received a letter in the mail supposedly from the University Healthcare Center. They requested I call them back immediately in regards to patient billing issues. The number they gave me was 1-888-424-1743
As a note, I was treated at the University Health Care back in 2007. In early 2008, I was informed the hospital had a bunch of records stolen. I believe they have my records because they referenced an accurate account number in the letter.
However, the person signed it as Angela B, with no typed name below the signature. Definitely fishy! - Greg AspenGot a call from 888-424-1743, claimed it was urgent... even had my daughter's full name! Who the hell are these people and do they have no shame? I never did call back.
- Caller: unknown
- DrewGot a call today on my Wife's phone from 888-424-1743 from Angela saying she needed a call back about an urgent matter and that we would be receiving a letter in the mail. This has scam written all over it. I don't know how they got our cell number unless it is somehow tied to a record somewhere since all of our numbers are unlisted and we dont give them out.
- CharlesI received a call, when I returned their call it was like a 3rd party trying to go over bills.I had x rays done and I have been going back and forth with previous healthcare about the condition. I have been dealing with the health insurance, they said they were representing the hospital to check to see if I had been following up with them. Not sure how legit it is, all I can figure is the hospital is paying someone to follow up on unpaid Health Insurance Claims?
- Brandon Butler| 4 repliesI am the Information Technology Manager for Professional Medical Services http://www.p-m-s.com/. The number you have reported is one of ours. We are not a collection agency. We work with hospitals across the nation to try, and work your insurance claims for hospitals to keep them from going into bad debt collections. Because of HIPAA guidelines we are not able to leave any information with anyone except for the patient. We sometimes have to call to verify that you had insurance coverage with the reported insurance company during those time frames.
- Caller: Professional Medical Services
- Robin GI called the number back. It is a company which processes medical bills for hospitals. They are legit. They were calling about a health insurance claim which had been denied by the insurance company. I was already aware of the problem. They did not ask me for any personal information, but asked me to try to clear it up with the insurance company.
- Caller: 817-451-0015
- gustav replies to Brandon Butler| 2 repliesWell Brandon Butler, as information technology master for Professional Medical Services you should be aware that your company must use NON blocked numbers that state your business name on caller ID. It is also illegal to call without IDENTIFYING the name of your company and what it does on a message. SCAM!
- Brandon Butler replies to gustav| 1 replyDear Gustav,
It is not illegal for a company to use blocked numbers. If you had any knowledge of how enterprise phone systems work than you would know before VOIP phone systems there were basically two options for phone lines. Option 1 was PRI, and option 2 was T1 lines. Option 2 was a more cost effective way for corporations to handle interstate phone calls. This was the option Professional Medical Services chose. We have since updated our phone system, and it does display caller id. No where does it say we have to identify the name of our company. It is more familiar to the client we call when they recognize the hospital name we are calling for versus our company name. Due to HIPAA we are not allowed to leave much information on a message. It is up to you if you want to call us back. - B as in B... replies to Brandon ButlerWell Brandon, since I work for the FCC I can tell you it's NOT illegal under HIPAA to actually state the reason you're calling i.e "this is in regard to a billing issue with XYZ health care" to allow the receiver to filter lying telemarketers out. We've received several calls from your number at my home and I know for a FACT that we owe NOTHING for our health care since we pay CASH. Try again. The clinic/hospital can verify our unbroken and generally unused coverage with the actual insurance company and have NO need to call our home or hire firms like yours to do so. I contacted my clinic today to verify they have no issues with our billing.
Go away scammer. - Donald Raasch replies to Brandon ButlerIt's funny this clown representing a company he has yet to identify lol anyway I was called and so was my mother I apparently am a father of new born twin boys lol but yes I have an unpaid x ray bill and just got a settlement from an insurance company and sure as [***] i was called the next day....u should b fired ya you
False claims and causing family drama I would really kick your ass if you were in front of me rite now! - LacyCalled my cellphone, asking to speak to me regarding an important business matter, I said what matter? She asked me to verify my birth date and last four of my social. Apparently I too have had twins, which is funny because I can't have children.
