are these calls legit?  is this survey something that is required?

Phone rang @ 1:01 PM Tues Nov 25---------that'a end of lunch time to begin with----stupid people---respect meal time!!!!!! Caller ID said toll free call------that is sneaky     I LET IT RING* if they'd showed name may have answered but toll free is used to HIDE who they are!!!!!! i don't care ag census or who-I do NOT do toll free-usually someone who doesn't understand the word NO wanting me to buy something I neither need nor want. If they call back I will NOT answer.  If I do answer i will pick up phone say nothing & wait til they hang up. Run up their bill----needs to be done to the CROOKS & they are or would show their name.

Calls repeatedly, never leaves a message ... most of the calls seem to be at meal times or in the evening family time.
USDA Ag Census wanting information that was requested via a census form mailed out a few weeks ago.  MOST such forms a very clear "Response is voluntary" with "voluntary" in bold type.  There are a few such census forms that are not voluntary & they indicate such, but so far every form I have received this year clear states "VOLUNTARY" ....
Somehow though, when they call to get the information, they identified what the census/survey they mailed was & I recall it being "voluntary" ... they seemed to believe that response is mandatory and insisted I was wrong ... I said, then send the feds to arrest me & hung up.

I really do PITY these poor folks! Yesterday was T'giving & we were with family---this number called @ 10:40AM---we let it ring!!!!!!! Get the point people------don't they have any family or anything to be thankful for??? Call on a holiday--how PATHETIC.They've called everyday this wk, I let it ring. If I did answer---I do NOT see that NOT do any survey over phone----this day of scams they can say USDA & be who knows who so they may as well STOP calling---NO answers here----lonely people. If they need company so bad go to nursing home where daily residents beg for visitors.
