They call to tell me they are from DELL and have received a message from the "network" because some of microsoft services in my computers have stopped working and I'm bound to a total crash.  They had me check the services which in fact some of them are stopped (which is normal). They wanted to get in the computer to fix it. I ask them to give me a call back No. which they did. The number 855 662 4434, as I found using google, has been reported for scam by several people.

They called saying they are Dell and I had a network issue/attack. I asked them to send me an official email stating they were Dell but to no avail I got excuses. They continue to call back, which is unheard of for Dell, and does a lot to defend the company. I've actually worked for Progressive and Delta Dental call centers and know the proper procedures; one of which is customer service. I digress to let you all know to not trust this "company" and hang up.

Don't take the call. Dell Support doesn't make calls to you. I checked. These guys have your number, email, and support details, like if you ever had service. They called me on Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning. I've received multiple calls from them and they will not remove you from their call list. Their goal is to get to your credit card number, bank account number, anything they can steal. They typically have an Arabic accent but insist there name is typically American, Bob, Jeff, Steve... Don't be fooled, hang up.

Got these calls on Christmas Day. This person with an Eastern accent claimed they were from Superior Tech Help and said there was a rumor that our network was being hacked. When we hung up they just kept calling (a total of 8 times). When we answered again the man said "did you just hang up on me?" They knew our email address and our home address, claiming we had contracted them last year. We have never heard of them.

I have had two calls from this number in the past hour.  The caller claims to be calling from DELL Computer and his call is important.  What a crock.  It sounds like he's calling from a bar because of the heavy noise in the background.  I hung up on him the 2nd time.

THIS IS A SCAM!  I made a 3-way call to DELL Support with the Scammer also on the phone, unbeknownst to the Scammer...He panicked.  This was after he tried to gain access to my hard drive and access through a LogMeIn site to "Help me update drivers that were grossly out of date and held my Dell at serious risk of Attack".  What irony.  Needless to say, he hung up, Dell confirmed "They will ONLY ever call when they've been asked to call you back, and never any other time.  His phone number was 888-451-1603, He claimed his name was "Alvin Bred and his employee ID was 8ZXR8605", all of which are real, that he apparently stole and was equipped with in case he was asked.  Clearly he wasn't ready for the conference call.

My husband had a few questions about 8.1 and went online to Windows Tech Support and we cannot get the people with thick India accents to stop calling and now they have become vulgar and told my husband to open his mouth and suck his XXXX.  They have called me all sorts of bad names before they hang up.  They say they are not in the U.S. and the phone calls cannot be traced.  I am so sick of them I reported them to the Federal Trade Commission but nothing is ever done.  This has been going on for three years.

A man named "Mike Smith" with a very thick India/Pakistan accent has been harassing me from this number for three+ days.
    Says he is from Dell.
Says if I don't speak with him and follow his instructions my computer will be permanently damaged.
If I hang up on him...HE CALLS BACK! And asks why I hung up on him.
    I ask for a # to call him back because I don't believe him.....he gave me this # 866-203-6875
I haven't called this number yet.....kinda freaked out to.
    Beyond frustrated.
    Near tears!

Claimed to be from Dell, like the other comments, and to be following up on service I had done to a laptop. Again, the caller had a thick Indian/Pakistani accent and was very combative when I ask for particulars as to the service they were referring to. HINT 1: does not listen to your requests and constantly interrupts. HINT 2: does not explain anything clearly, tries to throw in as much techno mumbo-jumbo as possible. HINT 3: is very rude on the phone. This person called back when I hung up on him to DEMAND to know why I hung up. So I told him that if he gave me his name first I might be able to answer his question. His response was that he would only after I answered his demand. So I hung up again. When he called back immediately after that, I just blocked this number. Boy!!! The customer service at "DELL" has not only gone down the toilet, it's sinking to the bottom of the septic tank! ;P

It is a scam. Block this number. If you have any concerns, scan your machine for viruses and/or spyware. If you don't have software to do that have your machine scanned by a reputable shop. Alternately, get a number from www.dell.com to call and explain your situation to them and ask what recommendations they may have. I hope this allays any fears. I believe they were either after your credit card information or trying to get you to inadvertently download spyware/malware from their site. DO NOT open any emails from "DELL" that you may see in your inbox (especially if they have an attachment) until you verify with the actual company Dell by calling their 800 number from their website. Rule of thumb is that Dell (as with most companies) will never initiate contact with you.

    Have a Happy New Year!
