I had a fraudulent charge placed on my Washington Mutual bank card ($395)from this company United Medical Discount out in Reno, NV. When the charge posted it came up with this telephone #. When I called a automated machine comes on telling you you've reached "Identity Protection Services" and the reps are busy leave a message and hangs up. Starngley the same day i had this posted another posted from a "Identity Protect" for $1.00. When i contacted their number it was busy. When I googled the number to United nothing came up but when I googled Identity Protect I found on this website 7 pages worth of posts from people had fraud done to their credit cards and numerous bank accounts.

I am also a victim of this scam.  I went into my checking account today to find a $1 charge, then a $429 charge made to my account on 3/19 by Identity Protect.  I canceled my account this morning, but not before they pushed another $1 charge thru from the 23rd.  I would love to know how we are all connected.  I live in Delaware, and have made purchases online recently to Buxton Bags, Harriet Carter, Moftware, Avon and Amazon.  This may be a shot in the dark, but thought I would throw it out there in case there is a link.

Site policy for handling customer information is impressive as they do not store customer credit card information on file like any other site. The customer credit card information stays between banks only, their store just get the info on payment made to their account or not.. SunglassReplicas is secure site and have nice selection of sunglasses.

Same thing happend to me... Washington Mutual knew NOTHING about it!  They say that the ONLY way to stop them from draining our accounts $395 at a time is to stop the debit/credit card and have them issue another card (which takes 6-7 business days).  i recommend you do this to all wamu accounts with a debit/credit card.  I'm really pissed.  Also, they cannot stop anything that is pending. Once it has posted, call wamu and they say that they will reverse the charge?  Don't know how long that will take....

This is crazy!!!  I did everything everyone did above and I too recieved the $1.00 Charge on 03/26 and the $395 charge on 03/28.  I was trying to do research on this, and thankfully I found this blog.  I hope we catch this a**hole and prosecute KEVIN to the full extent!!

I had the same $395 & $1 charges to my Chase credit card...called the number and had some guy tell me he'd reverse the charges.  I, of course, called Chase and had my credit card cancelled and reissued.  I am in Phoenix, AZ and this just happened 3/23 & 3/24.  I have no idea how they got my credit card #!

My husband and I also were charged FIVE different times with this company. Two charges with $395, two of $1, and one of $429!!!!  These people need to be stopped!  We have not been able to get through to the company and would like some answers!  We also had to cancel our credit cards to avoid anymore fraudulent charges.

Our story is similar...WAMU card and a $1 charge on 3-25 the a $395.00 from United M dical(e is missing on statement)Discount for $395 and then it repeats 4 more times. The only place I used this card around this time was for a Disneyland area hotel reservation. Does that ring a bell? I alos used this card for GemsTV purchases- also out of Reno

Citi Cards called me today. They said they found fraud on my account. a $1.00 charge from a company called Identity Protect out of Reno Nevada. Immediately after the $1.00 charge was a $429.00 charge. Card reported stolen now (day before I go on vacation) and must wait a week for the new card! Citi Cards will take care of everything (including any finance charges) associated with this fraudulent transaction.

BOA called me last week.  They found the same thing ($429 charge from Identity Protect).   The card has been cancelled.  What a hassle.  A huge thanks for everyone posting this issue.  Had you not posted these, I would not have found out (so quickly) that this was truly a fraud.  In Australia, we've used it at a number of places (Coles, Target, restaurants, etc.)  Not sure if this helps.
