Total automated call about a failed bank transactions. Refer to person called as respondent give a reference number as if it is a legal document w as its immediate callback.

Scammer saying they're from Recovery Processing company and threatening court notices and even to show up at your house or job; gives a case number and sometimes the wrong name. This time they said it's about "insolvency"; the person spoke perfect English and their spiel is worded well enough to scare people - evidently they're calling from this new number and who knows how many others, but the main info on this SCAM I could find is for another number which was 888-633-2049. Called my daughters phone and said they need a statement from me about a claim I had filled.  I hadn't filed any type a claim they gave her a claim number and this phone number for me to call.  Needless to say I did not call them back.

Calling stated that I needed to call them back immediately about a failed backing transaction.
Gave a reference number for me to use when I call back.. Automatic recording.

Person calling herself Michelle Lopez, from the dept of fraud investigation, called saying there was a civil complaint about a failed banking transaction,  and that I am the respondent.  I haven't had any failed transactions. They called previously saying there were going to show up at my home or job.  How do I stop these calls?

They called me and said there was failed banking transaction and refused to give me an actual address, they gave me 3880 Sheriden Dr. Amherst NY which is Chuck E Cheese. They asked for my personal info including ssn.

Call blocker might be of some help.  Also don't pick up on numbers you do not recognize, or where there are caller IDs that seem odd.  Or where there is no caller ID.

BBB has seen a major increase in collection agencies setting up businesses in the Upstate New York area over the past several years.  In an effort to keep consumers informed about which collection agencies are operating in accordance with Federal Law,  we are asking for specific information from all collection agencies operating in our service area.  The requests includes the following:
:Federal Employee Identification Number-EIN
:Proof Of Licensing, bonding and or registration by the city, town in which your business is located.
:Proof of licensing required by any state in which you operate by mail or telephone or email.
This collection agency has not responded to our requests.

They call excessively multiple times, morning, day, night.  They judt called again, a real person this time, I asked where they were calling from, he said rpc.  I advised him they need to stop calling me, if it is a valid reason for calling, they can mail me the info.  He asked for my address!  Told him if it's valid, they should have it already, they have my phone #.  He wanted to place me on hold, I told him no and said again stop calling me, and if I get another call I will report for harassment.  Not sure if it will do anything, but I said it!    Usually it's a recorded message about a failed banking transaction.  Which I haven't had!
