They call all the time, they are National Rifle Association, or NRA. They are just calling to get people to sign up as members.

I answer as a business phone, they hang up immediately.

These people also SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION (phone number/address) with other charities/organizations/scammers that try to get donations from you.  Some callers pretend they are from the NRA but aren't, so don't trust any of them and don't give out personal information to anyone you don't know over the phone.

Call them back and you'll get a "we're sorry we missed you" recording. Press 1 to "hear more about how great we are and why you should want us to call you 3 or 4 times a week."  After you hear the spiel, you will get an option to press 3 in order to be taken off of their list. You enter your phone number and that's it. Hoping it will work ... I am so sick of them calling day after day after day.

They are not the NRA. We get these calls all the time. My husband went to a Pro-Gun rally in our state capital. Wayne LaPierre was there making a speech. My husband confronted one of the High up officials who came with him and this man said they do not call people asking them for donations. They send letters. He told my husband it is a scam outfit that is trying to get your credit card number. They do not ask for cash they ask for your credit card so they can renew "right away". We know for a fact that this is what they want because my husband talked to them to see exactly what they had to say, and the only thing they wanted was for him to renew his membership 3 months early. When he told them he would not renew early and would never give out our credit card number they hung up. They still keep calling though.

I called the number back and got an answer machine saying it was the NRA. Since I am a life member I doubt they would be calling me. I pressed 1 and during the spiel pressed 3. It said to enter the 10 digit number I wished removed from the calling list. When I entered my home number their system said it was an invalid number. I suspect they were trying to compare that number with their caller-id info on my call. However, I was using Skype which gives a garbage number on caller-id. I have sent an email to NRA with a request that they investigate these calls.

They don't identify themselves.  Just say they will call back.  I called the number and it says they are the NRA but won't give you a chance to leave a message. My name needs to be removed from their calling list.  Have called several times.

This is a collection agency call NATIONAL RECOVERY ASSOCIATES or NRA.

They do NOT need to adhere to the NO CALL LIST as they are not solicitors rather an agency attempting to collect on debts. They are VERY aggressive and are not interested if they have the correct person or not.

When I informed them my telephone number was "new" and that the individual(s) they were searching for had long since changed to an unlisted number, this agency was adamant and refused to believe that I was not the person they were looking for... I have attempted on several occasions to resolves this, but they continue call nonetheless, even on Sundays (which should prove just how unscrupulous they are.)

I heard on Good Morning America that if you get harassing calls from collection agencies that are not about you, get their name and adress and send a certified letter to them to "not contact you by phone, letter, e-mail or in any way" they have to stop calling.  This worked with my husband's aunt and uncle and once we did this, we did not receive any more calls.

I answered the phone, but the caller hung up just as I answered.  So I called back.

It WAS the National Rifle Assoc.  I am a life member, and there is no reason for them to call me: I gave, agree with them, and don't intend to be politically active.

I pressed 1 to hear more, listened to the message and during that pressed 3, and got the "enter 10 digit phone number" message.  I entered the 10 digits and the message said "federal law gives 30 days to remove but we'll try to remove your number within the next 2 to 3 days, thank you for calling."

All very reasonable.

I have had this outfit call me numerous times asking for a donation and as I always say that I give to other organizations and I am also a member of the NRA and ask why are you calling me for a donations and that's when they hang up so beware of this scam outfit do not give your credit card out.

We keep getting phone calls from this number.  We don't answer the phone when they ring, and they opt to not use our answering machine.  I called the number below, they said that they were The National Rifle Association just calling to see if we wanted to update our records.  My husband and I both realized that we have never received calls from the NRA, only things through the mail.

HAve been getting numerous calls from them.  They won't leave messages or when I answer, there is no sound.  I hang up on them.  They call am, pm - constantly.I have had enough of this.  The won't even identify themselves.  Also, it shows up  Unavailable  1-888-483-8328 on my caller id.  Please stop calling and harassing.  I will notify the authorities and being legal proceedings against you.

I'm like everyone else, sick and tired of getting these calls.
I'm sure it is not the National Rifle Assocaition of which I am a member.

I tried calling back and it gave me no options at all. This number has been calling on and off for weeks on end.
