One of over a dozen in one day, didn't bother to pick it up.

they called back just now, I answered and not so politely explained how many times that number called me that day, and requested she remove my number from the list.

She assured me she would.

They keep calling, I do not pick up.

Does anyone actually know what this 888 number is? Do you know where they are calling from?

I'm wondering the same...started two days ago, and has been non stop ever since.

I've answered once or twice; no one on the other end.  Most annoying

Called several times!

person on phone said "You are now currently the only person in this country"
then they hung up.  I am looking into this. I am pressing charges.

person called, sounded like a young man. he asked for me with my exact name and then when i said he was speaking to her there was a long pause and he hung up

Person says they are calling from CUSTOM MEDIA, asked for my husband, told them he was out.  They refused to leave a message for him to call back and informed me that they would be calling again.  I've blocked the number.

Call came in at 924a central time (North America). Phone rang twice no one was there, almost a click sound as if they hung up right when I picked up. Weird !

I was busy and didn't get to the phone in time to answer it..
but i was surprised to find out that this number has apparently called others. I received this call on my cell.. hmmm

Seems to be a phony debt collector...called several times & left a message stating that it was important for me to call them back at 888 488-6782 as they may be able to offer me a "substantial" reduction on  my debt.  No laws whatsoever were observed {e.g. if you are not {name} do not listen to this message}.

THE REASON FOR THE HANG-UPS is that these slime balls need nothing more than to be able to associate your name with your phone number to gain all the information needed to literally access your bank account directly.  They don't speak because there's no need to waste {their} valuable time in moving on to the next victim.  Sometimes they don't speak because it's a computer generated call, & the program has already determined that it's a viable number.
 
My identity was stolen a couple of years ago, & sold to other criminals umpteen zillion times. Another reason for this type of call can be due to scammers trying to blackmail people into paying old, previously paid, or unpaid debts, under the threat of reporting it to the credit bureaus {which they can easily do}.  Luckily {wry expression}, the identity theft has completely destroyed my credit rating, so they have nothing to bargain with.  The best defense for those receiving odd calls, from strange numbers is to NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE UNLESS YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY SURE WHO'S CALLING.  It's not much help, or comfort, but can sometimes prevent having to experience the nightmare myself, & others have.

P.S.  I am not an expert on identity theft.  It's best to take my advise with a grain of salt.  My comments are only the result of my uninformed observations, comments from other victims, & a minimal amount of research on government websites.

Cramming - google it.  They are just looking for live phone numbers to cram their charges onto your phone bill.  Be careful to inspect your cell phone bill for small charges that mean nothing.

This is All American Direct they provide east coast and west coast tv channels from Dish TV .I love this because i can start watching at 5 pm on the west coast and if i record the show i can watch without the commercials,plus my DVR can only record 2 shows at a time so i can tape all my shows,and watch at my convience.
Yes they did call 3 times in a row which was irrating to say the least.
