2 calls from 303-659-4849 and 303-659-4974. Returned calls and got "Inmate Calling Solutions" 8885068407

It is someone in jail trying to call you.

Yes, that phone number called last night, and 3 times today. I know no one in jail. I don't know if it's an inmate who got my number, or a solicitation.

I called the number and told them to stop calling me. They said I have to have the number blocked by the phone company. Phooey on that!!

I went to the Do Not Call list www.donotcall.gov and filed a complaint (Complaint button on left) for each time they called.

Go to the website of Inmate Calling Solutions, and find Customer Service. E-mail them that you are receiving unwanted calls. Someone should e-mail you back in the next day or so, let you know what's up, and he can permanently block your phone number from his end. I just did this.

I just received a call from this number (888-506-8407)...  It sounded like a prerecorded message, but it was unintelligible... I really didn't catch anything that was said.  Except at the end, it said "you have received this message."  Huh?

Just rec'd a call from this number, we know of no one in jail. We called the number back and it gave us the 888-506-8407 for Inmate Caller Solutions who stated that someone was trying to call us collect, but since they were calling a cell phone number we had to put money on an account so they could call again.  I am thinking its a hoax!

I received a call this morning from this number.  It mentioned that the call was from the county jail.  I don't know anyone in jail.  I did not accept the charges.

I have been receiving 3-6 calls per day for the past 2 days from 262-522-0484/5/6, which then refers to this 888 number.

Yes.  I just received it twice.  I did a *69 and found that it was from 731-265-1206.  731 is our area code.  Sounded like the automated message said that "Greg" (a voice insertion) was calling from the "Madison County Jail" (also voice insert and our county).  It said to push 5 to accept the call.  I pushed 5 and it said they were unable to connect the call.  Then it said to "Please hold for a one-time only complementary inmate call." or something like that.  I just hung up.

If you call the number they WILL put a block on your number.

Funny thing, I have received the 888-506-8407 call myself. I didn't accept the charges at either time. Once on March 14, the other today March 20 at about 4:22PM. On the first recording, strangely enough, it did say they were calling from 'The Madison County Jail'. This is where Anderson Indiana is located...Madison County. I don't know anyone that resides in any jail anyplace in the World that would call me. The company seems real, but it might be someone in a jail setting that has masterminded a way to either get free calls billed to someone different than what he/she is calling or else someone in jail that has a very bad memory for numbers. Beware at either rate!

No, it's not a scam - it's actually pretty simple.  If, for some reason, your phone is unable to accept collect calls from a jail facility, the call gets transferred to Inmate Calling Solutions.   You can set up a prepaid account with them, so the inmate can call your phone.  Instead of your phone bill getting charged with collect calls, the cost of the call is taken out of the prepaid account.  The "courtesy call" only lasts for less than a minute - I think it's just so the inmate can let you know they are locked up.  If you are getting calls from a jail, and don't know who it is from, it's probably because the inmate is dialing your number by mistake.

Yep, I have gotten 3 calls from someone in the Okaloosa County Jail in Florida.  I don't know anyone in jail.  So I was actually a little worried. So I called 888 506 8407 to see what was going on and they told me that I should press #9 on my phone to block that number.  I'm not sure about anything now.  After reading all of these accounts that resemble mine, it's a little fishy.  Something is not right.  I am calling my cell phone company and am going to ask them to monitor this phone number.  At least it will show that I don't want charges from this company to be on my bill.

Got a call from 888-506-8407 several times.  It is from Inmate Calling Solutions.  It means that someone is trying to call you collect from jail and your phone does not support collect calls.  Normally collect calls are billed to your regular phone bill.  But if your provider does not support collect calls it reverts to this service, and you have to call that number and pay a deposit (any amount you want), then the next time the inmate calls the call will go through.  One time the number did allow me 15 seconds of talk time and then the call was stopped.  It was my bro-in-law calling from jail (again).  Unless you want to leave a deposit to receive these calls... don't worry about them.

I just received a call from the 888 number,,when I answered, the call was disconnected..I don't know anyone in jail,,and i'm not pressing any numbers on my phone,,if it is someone I know,,then they can get someone else to pay for their collect calls..

I've got three calls from 888-506-8407 in the past two days. The recording asks if I will accept the toll charge. Of course I have not answered and immediately hung up. I won't accept any long distance charges on my cell phone. But I'm very curious who is calling me and who has my cell phone number and why.

I've also received 3 calls from this number in the last 2 days. It's got to be a telemarketing scam. Of course I don't accept the charges and hang up my cell phone. Is it just cell phones this number/scammer is targeting?
