Annoyed5429 Feb 2008I found a charge on my checking account, called my bank and they gave me the phone number 888-560-6635!!! THEY ARE TAKING MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT!!! I called the number and it just stated, "you have reached a voice messaging center; please leave your message." I called my bank back and reported FRAUD!!!!!!!!- I too have had several attempts to make .11 debits from my checking account the last several days. I contacted my bank and had them mark my card "hot". They are sending me a new one. What I really wanted to know is if any of you are Country Wide customers? The reason I asked is that I am and about a month ago got a letter that stated that my information may have been sold by a now former employee. I used to pay my mortgage payment on the website with my debit card.
- This place (CENTR LIMITED, located in Texas) charged my credit card 14 cents and I just called to dispute the charge. When I talked to the credit card company, they gave me the same phone number (888-560-6635). Upon calling the number, I got the following message: "The number you dialed is not in service at this time."
- I had a charge for $.07 on 10-2-08 on my Bank Of America ATM account. The next day I had a charge for $34.95 and $1.05. I called to dispute and they cancelled my card. The rep told me a lot of times companies or individuals will put a small charge through to see if it works then hit you with the big charge.
- HJ6 Mar 2008I did not get any phone calls. A charge showed up on my credit card for $9.70 showing 888-560-6635 as the company ID. I have no idea who these people are or how they got my credit card number. Pretty scarey....I cancelled my credit card.
- I had the exact same thing happen to my credit card. I was charged $9.70 w/ a description of CENTR LIMITED w/ this phone number. Do you have any idea who these people are? I cancelled my card and disputed the charge. I called the number but got the same thing as other, just a voice mail box???
- I also had the exact same problem with my washington mutual debit card, i was charged $9.65 from Centr limited with that number. I called to dispute it and asked more about the charge, all they could tell me was that it seemed to be a stationary store located in Dallas. Seeing as how i live in NYC, it was very clear that it was not me who made that purchase. I immediately closed my card. I also tried calling the number and it goes straight into a voice mailbox. I hope whoever these people are doing this get caught and get what they deserve. Good luck to everyone that is going through the same thing.
- The same thing happened to myself and a friend. Mine was for .14 and my friend's was for 9.75. I have a Visa card and he has a Master card each from a different financial institution. It appears that a merchant's list of credit cards (Debit Cards?) may have been compromised. Our common use of credit cards is limited to Sporty's Pilot Shop, My Pilot Store, Pay Pal, and maybe some other aviation related sites. At least that is all we can think of. What about the rest of you?
- qm18 Mar 2008I also had a charge on my credit card for $9.75 to Centr Limited with this phone number listed and TX behind it. I never purchased anything from this company (if it really is a company or just fraud). I also tried to call the number to get more info on the transaction and was sent directly to a voice mailbox. Reported as fraud to my credit card company and closed my card.
