I don't even have a Lane Bryant Credit Card but they still keep calling me.

I have been receiving calls from Melford,Ohio 3 times a day.  When I answer, there is always a mechanical voice that says to hold on for an important message.  I would hang up, assuming it's a telemarketer.  Finally, my husband answered, it was Catherines via Spirit of America "rudely" reminding me about my "late" payment of $33.15.  I was less than 1 week late when they started calling 3 times a day!  I wrote a check for the total bill, plus the $20 late fee, plus, I added my cut up Catherines charge card and a letter cancelling my account due to their "Late Payment Policy of Harassment of Customers." I didn't realize that Spirit of America Bank - I love the name - also, handles Fashion Bug and Lane Bryant accounts.  In the spirit of "My" America, I will send them my cut-up charge cards too, explaining why. My advice to other women with charge accounts with the Charming Shoppes: Fashion Bug, Catherines, Lane Bryant, Crosstown Traditions and Petite Sophisticates is to cut up your charge cards now rather than risk forgetting a payment and end up receiving from Spirit of America Bank harassment calls 3 times a day.  Let's show the Spirit of America the Spirit of Women!

I wish it was only three times a day. I was home sick from work on Friday and they called every hour from 8:00AM to 9:00PM

Every hour on the hour, and sometimes more.  I owe them a payment of $10.00 and they are relentless.  I went online and paid it this morning.  I hope their records update soon, I am sick of hitting ignore on my cell phone

I am late with them.  They called my mother and my neighbor for $60.  They used the number 877-697-6465.  They couldn't bother to leave a message on my machine.  I've gotten hangups though.  Hangups, if I can prove are them are a violation of fair debt collection practices also continuous calls to be annoying.

THIS IS HARRASSMENT!!! No messages left, and when I call back the first thing the automated system asks for is my Lane Bryant account number. I did NOT eneter it, just hung up. My account is in good standings. WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!

We recently moved and during this time, a few bills were misplaced...so I was 3 days late making my payment...~$50 on a card with only a $100 limit. Absolutely ridiculous. They called at least 5 times the first day and at I initially ignored the calls, thinking it was a telemarketer. When I answered on the 3rd day, I was "greeted" by an extremely rude representative who all but demanded that I give her the routing information for my bank account so that they could immediately process the payment. I told her that I never gave out such info over the phone and that I would pay in the store instead. She finally relented but was definitely a b---- about it. I cut my card up and am glad I didn't finish filling out a Catherine's card application.

This number will call my phone around 5 times a day starting at 9am and will never say anything when I answer.  When I cal back, they ask for an account # which I have no clue what acct this is for so when I press the keys for not having an account # they ask for my full SSN.  Well I dont think so it sounds like identity theft to me....someone needs to stop these guys !!!

I too have been getting these (*)&%^($^ calls. Do what I just did. Call 1-866-886-4731. this is their # on their customer support page at www.lanebryant.com.
Go straight for the supervisor and do a high speed come apart on them and tell them to get your # out of their database. Tell them that you are in the do not call list (if you are. If you are not, get on it)I also told them that if they continue calling, I would get a lawyer and start harrassment proceedings. The super was stumbling all over himself after that. They can do it. I just had then do it a few minutes ago. Don't pussyfoot around with them. Be ASSERTIVE!

I receive 6 to 8 calls per week from this number.  I have NEVER shopped at Lane Bryant and do not have a credit card with them.  I WANT OFF their calling list immediately.

Called Tuesday 7/28 at 8:20--not home, but woke rest of my family
Called Wednesday 7/29 at 8:25am--didn't catch the number on the automated system
Called Thursday 7/30 at 8:40am--called back and spoke to rep who knew I was simultaneously online making a payment
Called Friday 7/31 at 8:30--no apparent reason
Called Saturday 8/1 at 8:35 --no apparent reason--I called and spoke to a rep who said that unless you call to signify that a payment is scheduled, the computer does not know this until the payment is posted--she [promised to "fix" this and apologized
Called Sunday 8/2 at 8:25--when I tried calling, THEY DON"T EVEN HAVE SUNDAY HOURS AT THAT TIME--so WHY are they contacting me at that time?

By the way, other than a recent oversight on my part, my account HAS ALWAYS been in good standing. I am about to close my account.

I was called AGAIN this morning. Got on the phone and asked to speak to a supervisor, which took some doing. She argued that they did not place any calls--the only calls she had a record of were the ones from me complaining about the practice. (!!!) She said that the calls from me were logged, and her representatives made a note of my complaint and she saw that they had promised the calls would stop. THEN she said they cannot stop the call--the only thing that stops the calls is when payment is posted. She saw that I had just been online and paid off my account completely--she THEN said that the calls should stop  because that payment would post that evening. My response was--"Why didn't the calls stop when I posted my initial payment on THURSDAY, then? It posted that evening...(?!?!) Something is very wrong here.

I have since closed my account with them, requested that I be removed from all mailing lists and any further contact from them. I will never shop in one of their stores again. I have also made a complaint to the Better Business Bureau--I hope everyone else experiencing this does the same.

I received three phone calls from them between 8 am and 8:45 am.  When you answer phone, you hear silence for several seconds before someone comes on the line.  Then, someone finally came on the line, speaking broken English, and asked for Carol .. who I am not.  I told them not to call me again. This is harrassment .. why are they calling before 9 am .. is this legal?  Not to mention the fact that they are calling the wrong person.

I have been receiving calls from these people 12 times a day. I always refuse their calls. I know there is a balance due and I spoke with them 2 weeks ago for them to send me a bill in the mail to my new address, but I haven't seen one yet. The man that I spoke to didn't seem to know what he was doing and asked me to repeat the street I live on 3 times in broken english. He also asked me where I work. NO WAY! I told him I don't feel comfortable telling him this information over the phone. I will never use my Lane Bryant card again or apply for one at any of their affiliated stores. I'm glad I looked the number up online. What CREEPS!

If I answer the phone when this number calls 888 561 8874, there is no one there.  There is always a message left and it is dead air.  When I call the number back there is a message that says, "please wait for an important message"...then nothing.  This number calls me 6-7 times a day. How do I make it stop

Will never return a call to a company that doesn't have the decency to leave a message when they call every two hours of every day.

This company has been calling me for the last couple of weeks. Okay I do owe a payment. But can't make the payment till my pay check goes into the bank. Friday 9/18/09 starting at 8:10 am cst they called me 20 to 25 times within an hour, never left message not one time. Once I confirmed my pay check was in my bank, I went online and the payment. Didn't recieve anymore calls for the rest of the day or weekend. Monday 9/21/09 started calling again at 8:06 am cst didn't answer the phone, no message left, they called again at 8:15 am cst, again no message, called again at 8:25 am cst again no message, again at 8:35 am cst, finally I answered the phone and before the lady could speak I told her if she would take her hand put it on the scroll key and scroll down she would see that my payment had been made and that she had already called my  house 4 times this morning within 30 minutes and that she was harrassing me and if she called me one more time today or ever again I would sue her and Lane Bryant and hung up the phone.

I have been receiving phone calls from this number for the past couple weeks.  Same thing as previously noted; no one on the line once I answer the call and no message left on a voice mail.  So, I called the number.  The recorded message asks for an account number.  I don't have one nor will I ever be opening one.  I wait on the line to talk to an operator.  The gal asks for my phone number.  I immediately ask to talk to her manager.  Tiffany comes on the line and I explain to her that my name needs to be removed from the list, TODAY!  One hour later, another phone call...two hours later, another phone call.  I HAVE HAD IT!
